Hops and Robbers was formulated with two great friends who share a passion for Craft beer, conversation, stealth missions (Finding great beer on tap) and travel. Nathan and Claude have always been looking for the next big score for IPA’s, so we decided to produce our own beer for the local market that had a great balance, aroma and 50 IBU’s!

This is golden IPA with an exceptionally rich and complex character. Fruity aromas of lemon with hints of pineapple combine crisply with toasty caramel flavours and a tasty malt backbone. Dry hopping with cascade hops ensures more hop aromatics are retained in the finished beer. Made with pride and panache, Double Trouble Brewing’s flagship brand Hops & Robbers is refreshingly delicious.

Nice clear golden colour. Flavour has nice citrous lemony notes without being overpowering.

Pours a slightly misty pale copper with a full creamy head. The aroma of earthy hop bitterness is a little thin and in the flavour the bitterness turns s little sharp and is not really supported by underlying malts.

Poured from a standard 473 ml Canadian tall boy pint can. It' s so-so, unfortunately. It is bitter, but not especially a pleasant bitterness. Tasted a little dank and/or off. Says BB Feb 2019. Old? Maybe.

Can from the Beer Store Mississauga
Mostly clear golden orange color with a thin but long lasting bubbly white head. Caramel and bready maltiness some light earthy grass and some orange and citrus to round it out. Not bad old school ish IPA

Hazy amber-gold with a strong head. Standard citrus hop nose. Medium malt body with a crisp carbonation. Not too hoppy on the finish.

Hops and Robbers Extra Delicious IPA from Double Trouble Brewing Company in Guelph, Ontario. 5.7% alc.

The beer is a hazy golden colour with a creamy off-white head. Quite a bit of carbonation on the pour that allowed the head to remain for several minutes before dissipating. Spotty glass lacing.

Really no smell to this and that was surprising for an IPA. Even as the beer warmed there was only the faintest hop aroma.

The taste is another thing: pleasantly piney and a faint hop bitterness on the back end.

The beer is medium bodied and the finish smooth and dry.

An enjoyable beer. But I do wish it had a stronger aroma profile.

At any rate, certainly something worth trying and a beverage I’d buy again.

Poured in a tulip glass fall brew. pours clear with a fair collar. little smell here which was disappointing. Satisfactory taste and feel. Quirky can and title drew me in and I would come back for another.

I bought a can of this in Brantford whilst in Canada for my son's hockey tournament. It poured a clear copper with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent is faint maybe a touch of pine with caramel. The taste is nicely balanced and easy to drink. There is some caramel malt presence and touch of pine. The Mouthfeel is lighter in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it's ok.
