350ml can poured into a pint glass.
A:
Gold straw in color with a slight hazy texture, the pour yields one finger of white foamy head with short to medium retention. The head collapses to thin bubble film without lace.
S:
The smell is herbal hop, a bit spice, malt, husk, with some hint of light fruit and citrus.
T:
Citrus hop comes first with some malt sweetness following by hop again that lends moderate bitterness and lasts until the finish which grain also mix-in.
M:
The body is light, semi-smooth mouth feel, clean, with some good crisp.
O:
Not as good as other Yebisu I’ve experienced just leaning toward average rank.

This was sent to me by EinWeizenBitte, who now seems to be MIA on the site. Too bad, as he was a solid source for foreign CANs due to his business travel. The CANQuest (TM) salutes you, sir, and wishes you all of the best!
From the CAN: "Yebisu Traditional Brew"; "Premium Yebisu"; "Wheat malt, fine barley malt and select hops create this 'smooth as silk' flavor."
I started out a bit agro on my pour, but I quickly backed off as the head was becoming unmanageable. Once things settled, I had two-plus fingers of dense, bone-white head with excellent retention that resembled the top of a vanilla ice cream cone. Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy lemon-yellow. Nose had a wheat-like sweetness along with a biscuit-malt dryness. "Select hops"? An apparent afterthought. Mouthfeel was medium and it had a light lemon-citrus flavor on the tongue. Finish was semi-dry with a definite lemony taste that lingered well after the swallow. I would happily drink this in the summertime and it deserves a place in the cooler if you CAN find it!

Please note I had previously submitted this review in error for the Premium Yebisu - this has not been corrected.
A - Clear yellow hue, heaps of carbonation bubbles. Minimal head.
S - Heaps of malt & wheat. Touch of crisper hops.
T - Sharp & spicy. Mildly bitter but balanced out with the malt. Slightly sour aftertaste.
M - Massive carbonation. Tongue bombarded. It's ok but a bit overpowering, drowns out a lot of the taste.
O - I'd been dying to try this lager for years so was very happy to find it in a shop while on holidays. Having said that though it wasn't quite all I'd hoped. It's an ok malty lager, but that's the best wrap I can give. Probably a little bit average actually, almost a poor man's Sapporo. The carbonation is a killer. Not bad but more of a decent work-horse than a fine thoroughbred.

Appearance: Clear gold colored brew. Moderate carbonation. Fizzy white head.
Smell: Decent malty profile. Minimal wheat character. Low hop aroma. Butter.
Taste: Nice and crisp with a slight herbal quality to it. Slightly bold yet well balanced.
Mouthfeel: Medium body. Touch of waxiness.
Drinkablity: Expected a boring wheat beer, but was pleasantly surprised by this interesting brew.

A beer first tried in 2008 but I suppose sold well enough that they brought it back in Winter of 2009.
A - The beer is very much like Sapporo and Yebisu Premium. It carries a light golden color. Mostly clear and fizzy. The head is light and puffy and leaves almost no lacing.
S - Aluminum can. Compressed air. Wheat malt, and a few spices. Some vaguely acedic traces of what once was yeast. Highly pasteurized.
T - Not acceptable but it is paletable. Wheat flavor is underplayed. This is only a slight variation of their standard year round beer. It's slightly less dry and has some lemon / hop tones but is pretty much for the masses.
M - What you'd expect from a macro beer in a can. Sprite has better mouth feel.
D - Well Sapporo did it again. Another *cough cough* premium beer from a can. The best thing I can say about this beer is it is drinkable. This is a good 3rd string beer when flavor becomes less of an issue.
