Yebisu Stout Draft comes in a 21.4 oz dark brown bottle that hides the appearance of liquid inside. Imagine my surprise when I poured the beer into a glass and it came out piss yellow and totally transparent. Turns out this is an “ultra premium,” cold filtered, all malt lager made for the American market by Sapporo. The aroma is light, mildly lactic, and slightly funky. A faint generic fruitiness and hint of chemicals appear in the aroma as it warms. There isn’t much going on there really. The body is very light, slightly creamy, and moderately dry. There is some acidity and very little bitterness. Carbonation is biting. Flavor is dull, muddled, mildly fruity (again generic), and some what lactic with that sort of sourness. Faintly chemical and metallic. Lacing is great.
