on tap at the brewery
Pours a hazed golden color with the thick, frothy white head found on many Tired Hands beers. Retains pretty nicely with some spotty lacing on the glass.
Earthy spice in the nose with some light apple sweetness. Soft yeasty funk with pepper and a mild toasted bready malt.
Brisk leafy hops and a hint of peppery spice with citrus up front. Some balanced sweetness with apple and soft caramel. Toasted bread and biscuit malt with light yeast and underlying funk. Finishes a little dry with a kiss of hops.
Lighter medium body, somewhat higher carbonation, creamy and bubbly on the tongue. There aren't too many examples of this style floating around, so this was a tasty, interesting one to try.

First had: on tap at the brewpub
Slightly hazy golden-brown pour with a thick, creamy, white head; moderate retention and lacing. Leafy, earthy aroma, toasted bread crusts. Similar taste, bready, leafy, dry spice, vegetal grassy bitterness, with a slight funk and a dry finish. Light-medium mouthfeel, not overly flavorful, but a nice drinker overall.

On Tap at The Brew Cafe in Ardmore.
Bright yellow with some gold and tan with a nice bright bubbly head that dies down after two minutes leaving no stick. Smells like a garde with a lot of toasted qualities with grain sticking through. No citrus hops but more down to earth. Caramel and some apple. Getting a nice light mix of a few key flavors. Starting off with some hay and grain with toasted malts. This goes into apple and a touch of honey. Grassy hops all around. Is pretty easy going if a step below medium. A malty build leaves for a slick finish, not really bitter, just a aftertaste of grass, nothing offensive. I like this but have had better in the style, the toastiness is the main attraction here and that's alright by me. Alcohol is on the lower end of other gardes I've had but who gives a shit, I drank it quicker, a quencher here. A nice Garde that does not go off in another direction, straight and to the point.

This beer poured out as a nice hazy orange color with a nice white head on top. The retention and lacing on this beer were pretty good. The smell of the beer was earthy with some spice, it also had a sweet autumn like aroma with some hops in there too. The taste of the beer was similar to the nose, but pretty good in general. The nouthfeel was medium bodied and very smooth. Overall this beer was pretty good, I would enjoy drinking it again sometime.
