Thanks to yourefragile. Served in a Tired Hands wine glass. Medium amber. Short head. Earthy nose with some citrus. Dry with a good bitterness. Nose is my favorite part. Another winner from Jean. A nice twist on the standard saison. Would like to have this one again.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazy brown with reddish highlights and a small, slowly falling head. Decent patchy lace on the glass. Bready malt aroma with hints of strawberries; some citrusy hops; light spices and yeasty esters.
Flavor matches the nose; more bready and malty than most saisons; heavier than much of what Tired Hands does in the style; the strawberries are there, but they’re subtle; lightly bitter citrus and earthy hops; some grassiness as well; spices, other vague fruity yeast notes.
Medium body, smooth, moderate carbonation. Semi-dry finish with a bit of a lingering light bitterness in the aftertaste. A nice enough beer but feels a little bit muddled to me and not as beautifully conceived as Jean’s other saisons. Certainly interesting though.

One of my least favorite beers I've had from them but still decent, beer is sort of amber and clear with a tan off white head of small and medium bubbles, some lacing, moderate to low carbonation.
Aroma is sweet and bready with a little bit of hops in there.
Beer is medium in body, biscuit and earthy with a nice little bitterness to finish up. Not my favorite but I'd probably have it again.

On Tap at Tired Hands in Ardmore, PA.
BloodRoot sports a nice dark red color with some hints of brown woven in as well. One of the darker red ales I've seen, but apparently this is a saison, so this is a red saison, Odd. Either way some head on top leaving stick. I get a lot of biscuity malt in the nose with some caramel popping out up front. Traces of saison fruity esters, kinda muted under the malt. A hint of chocolate comes into the nose after a while. For a saison, this is awfully malty. It's not awful but strays from the normal pack which I respect. Caramel mixed in with some dank hops that don't pop out as much as what I got from the nose. The body is medium and has a nice build, a lot of malt forward aftertaste leaving a hint of chocolate after time. I see this is 6.2%, it's not in the picture, nicely hidden. Not my favorite offering from TH, but worth a go none the less.

Pours a copper tinted amber, prickly white head. Scent brings firm grassy, bitter hop notes with a bready and spicy backbone. Not overly complex flavor, spicy and bready in construction with more hop bitterness than flavor. Medium bodied, dry. Solid.

Description from the brewery: "Red Hoppy Saison. 6.2%. Brewed with Munich and caramel malts and Cascade hops.
-Notes of citrus, bread, and tart strawberry".
Pours a dark copper amber color with a medium sized creamy head. Nose has a strong spicy, bready and yeasty saison base with a strong bitter citrus hop finish. Probably should have started with this beer the day i was there instead of having it last since it seemed a little boring by comparison to others, but by no means disappointing. Flavor is a maltier saison, strong earth and spices with a resin hop finish. Medium light body with appropriate carbonation with a crisp, dry finish.
