2006 vintage.
A: Amber-chestnut with a light haze, off-white head, thin ring of retention, light leg/lace.
S: Earthy funk with some underlying cherry & brown sugar aroma.
T: Excellent tart/sweet balance, cherry, biscuit, leather, I like it.
M: Moderate body has a light acidity and an off-dry finish.
D: Very approachable, tart & sweet, thirst quencher.

Corked and caged in a 375 ml green bottle wrapped in a paper cover, ales like these used to be easily available at local grocery stores and I was expecting this to be a old bottle. To my suprise it was bottled in 2006 and expiry date was 2016!
Pour brownish red with a good head, aroma is of sour cherries, faint vinegary like acetic acid and more cherries, flavor reminds me of a flemish ale called Duchesse de Bourgogne, a good dose of cherry flavor, some swettness and a tart acidic finish.
At over 6 bucks it was pricey, but worth it.

375 ml bottle, wrapped and corked. Best before september 2015 stamped on cork cage. I love this presentation, makes me feel like I am opening a christmas gift.
A- Pink beige head that settles down to a thick rim. Dark ruby red with streaming bubbles just visible.
S- Alcohol and cherries (cherry juice). Sweet with some sour notes mixed in. I liked the smell and it advertises the taste nicely.
T- Very strong cherry spritzer flavour. Almost tastes like carbonated cherry juice. Don't notice the alcohol at all in the taste (noticed it's effects though). Lacks beerness from either malt or hops, though both are listed ingredients. A good fruit beer but cherries overwhelm the beer aspect.
MF- Refreshing, but with strong flavour and substance. Carbonation is a bit too high and it leaved the mouth a bit dry.
D- Highly drinkable.Would work well on a hot day or a cool dreary night such as I am experiencing as I drink this. A beer I am likely to go back to occasionnally, despite the fact that it is somewhat overpriced.

Deep red cherry like beer in colour with a beige head that slowly dissapears.
The smell is sour, cherry like sourness, vinegars aromas come out, some shy flavours of spices, hops and pepper.
Taste is sour, some flavours of cherry of course, followed by a spiceness, with pepper ended by a shy hops finish, globed in a yeasty enveloppe.

Bought at the Metro Collins in Chamby, Quebec. I added it as a separate beer because it doesn't really fit in with the other Liefman's, as far as I can tell. Label indicates its for the Quebec market, just called Biere aux Cerises, expiration date of April 2015, in a 375 ml corked bottle, wrapped in paper.
Pours a cloudy purplish red, some chunkies floating around, small pinkish head forms, leaves some real nice lacing. Smell is tart cherries, some vanilla, oak, strawberry, little bit if spice, this smells fantastic. Taste is very sweet and kind of syrupy, all cherry, with some spice and vanilla oak character, tartness hits in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation. Pretty tasty, probably the most enjoyable fruit beer I've had. There wasn't as much tartness as I wanted/expected, but just enough to balance out the sweetness. Little bit too syrupy but at least the cherry tastes real. Worth the money.
