The Naglee Park Garage is a great little neighborhood restaurant in downtown San Jose. The have a seasonally-rotating menu of food made from locally sourced ingredients and a small assortment of excellent craft brews on tap.
The restaurant is tiny, but they have a large outdoor seating area that they share with the neighboring hotdog shop. Weekends can be insanely busy, with a line out the door. The menu is relatively brief, and you order food and drinks at the counter. The service can sometimes be a bit gruff, especially on busy nights, but in general everyone who works there is friendly and attentive. Most menu items are a la carte, and the bill can add up quickly if you start adding lots of sides. Regardless, the food is excellent and very fresh.
They only have 3 or 4 taps, but they make up for quantity with quality. On a recent visit they had Green Flash IPA, Allagash White, and Anderson Valley Boontville Amber on tap. They also have a small selection of beer in bottles, usually including Duvel and occasionally Pliny the Elder.
The thing that makes the Garage a major beer establishment in San Jose is their dedicated support for craft beer in the South Bay. They have an annual Oktoberfest with imported kegs from Hofbrau Munchen, and they have also started sponsoring an annual Kraftbrew Festival in downtown San Jose featuring some of the best domestic and Belgian craft brews.
