A-Black in the glass, two finger tan head, clear when pouring
S-Good deal of roasted coffee and roasted malt, tad burnt, dark chocolate.
T-Nice balance of roasted malt, coffee with tad bit of burnt notes, slight chocolate as well. Semi sweet.
M-Medium to heavy in body and nicely carbonated.
O-Huge thanks for the extra. Glad I was able to try it. Will be stopping at Pipeworks next time I am in Chicago.

650ml red waxed bomber batch 100 poured into tulip 3/6/13, thanks MasterSki and Sean9689 for sending me the bottle
A looks black sitting in the glass but I can see nearly half way to the other side under the short lived two finger mocha foam, just a few random patches of lace
S burnt coffee, coco powder and dark chocolate, some citric hops shinning through all the dark roast, faint licorice and booze with some chocolate liqueur and earthy notes
T the coffees not burnt, still some hops but not as strong, more booze then the nose and some charred wood I wasn't picking up on the nose, I'm liking it but the nose was better
M silky at first and slightly creamy in a medium body, bitter bite, sticky on the lips but slick in the mouth with some heat on the way down with char and hops lingering on the finish
O a nice hoppy stout that's heavy on the charred dark roast, as the hops would fade with age I'm sure the booze would too, something I'd drink again for sure
one of those beer that I'd like try the day they bottle it and again 2+years down the road, worth drinking for sure

22oz, Batch 100, Bottled 3/21/13
Brandy snifter
A: Pours a nice dark brown color. Looks slightly oily. Initially a thin layer of tan head. Forms a collar of tan. Some spotty lacing is left on the glass.
S: Some creamy milk chocolate. Lactose maybe. Some light roast. Really isn't as aggressive as I thought it would be. Liked it.
T: Some hop bitterness up front. Piney. Then it's some milk chocolate and lactose like flavors. Slight roast. Dry finish. Lingering milk chocolate creaminess. I really quite enjoy this one.
M: Big medium leading to full bodied. Not a full as I was expected.

(Served in a Nonic)
Batch 100
A- This beer pours an obsidian black body with a rigors pour only producing an oily sheen that pushes to a sticky thin sheet of tan cream.
S- The aroma of new sneakers turns to a black roasted malt aroma with some berry esters in the back ground.
T- The chocolate malt tastes blends with a chalk taste and it is full and rich with some lactose flavors coming through and a fruity berry ester note in the finish. The slightly dry inky finish has some dark cola malt notes to it.
M- The medium-full mouthfeel has a soft alcohol heat and a thick texture in the finish.
O- This is a big stout with an intense inky black chocolate flavor with a nice bit of sweetness to it and a good lactose character to add some depth. I could see this as a nice canvas to add other flavors to in the future.
