Batch# 51 – Blue Wax – 750ml bottle – 4.0% ABV
Poured down the center of a Chalice glass at 50 degrees.
Appearance: Pours a dark pink and red body with minimal carbonation. The one finger head that settles on top dissipates down to just a lacing. Some light effervescence streaming up from the bottom. It pours really light bodied and looks super refreshing.
Aroma: Ripe and tart fresh blueberries and some raspberry, mild sourness, slight wheat, bready yeast and malts with a subtle bitterness on the nose.
Taste: Very light and refreshing, especially after a strenuous day work! Fresh, tart and ripe blueberries with characteristics of other bright fruits. The sourness is very pleasant and ideal for someone that isn’t use to an intensely sour beer. Very slight astringency and funk flavors exist in the back end that work well with everything. Very slight hop bitterness, pale and bready sweet malts in the back and wheat beer characteristics like bright citrus fruit, lemon, orange peel and cracked wheat.
Mouth feel: Very light bodied, refreshing, highly drinkable at 4% ABV, and it’s pretty easy getting through a 750ml bomber on your own.
Overall: Overall, this is a pretty interesting take on a Berliner-Weiss that has some nice flavor to it. The only thing I wish was better in this is the fresh blueberries, if they were a little more pronounced here, this would have been a notch better. Regardless of what could have made this better, the balance of sweet and sour fruits with the enjoyable wheat beer characteristics in-between make this a pretty solid example of the style. I recommend purchasing one bottle if you can find it or see it the shelf somewhere.

Thanks to t0rin0 for sharing this one at GRG1313's tasting.
Batch # 31.
Pours a murky light red with a foamy off-white head that fades to nothing. No lacing on the drink down. Smell is sour and tart with cheesy, berry, and metallic aromas. Taste is much the same with berry and cheese flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an average beer with some pretty infected aromas and flavors.
