Disgusting smoky hole in wall...good taps, dirty as hell, everything sticky, 110 degrees inside...but good beer list. Have to take another shower when i leave here ... And little insects (fleas? Fruit flies?) circling my beer... Disgusting

This place is a total hole in the way, but I am very glad I visited. I just happened upon it and the selection was massive. I went late on a Sunday night, but they had some great specials and beer was CHEAP! I would recommend to anyone if they are visiting town. It is a few blocks from Blackstone as well. I did not try the food, but heard good things.

This bar seemed a fine place to stop in the earlier part of a saturday evening, as I was looking forward to finding a good selection in this town. My expectations had already been calibrated for TN, so the menu served us well for a couple of rounds with a lengthy tap list. Mostly standard american micro styles represented, with just a few bigger beers available by 10 oz. snifter.

The atmosphere was fun on the patio...for the macro drinkers there. Sports bar vibe with darts and multiple tvs. Weather was nice, so I was comfy, but didn't feel the need to linger. Our server basically did what was necessary, no more. The prices were quite reasonable, closer to what might be happy hour prices where i'm from. Maybe less, so for that reason, I wouldn't be opposed to returning if i'm in town.

Let's just call this what it is...A BMC college bar with a nice selection of craft beers on draft.

Smoking is allowed and despite the ancient wagon wheel aerators, it does become an issue for non-smokers on a busy Saturday night. Maybe in the Summer time when the garage doors are open, it would be more tolerable, but not in the winter.

Service was average. Two bartenders to handle the entire bar was a little on the understaffed side, but they did everything they could to keep up.

Local offerings included Yazoo, Jack-A-Lope and Blackstone's. Approximately 10-15 craft specific taps were noticed including these notables: Schlafly, Southern Tier, Lips of Faith, Lagunitas among others.

Didn't have any food, but between the smoke and stale bar smell, I can't imagine this would be my first choice to eat in Nashville with so many other delectable options.

As another reviewer stated, this is not a bad place to go to if you are stranded in the Midtown area, but there are several other options that are more better suited to the craft beer enthusiast.

Stopped in Broadway Brew House while in town for work. Beer was good, decent selection as well. The service was OK- had worse, had better. Looked like mostly college kids as servers, so it's probably pot luck in that department. The bison burger I ate was pretty amazing though, and everyone else enjoyed their food too. The prices seemed completely reasonable to me. All in all a good, but not great place for food/beer. Flying Saucer definitely has a better beer selection. If you don't want to go there, this is a good number two option.

If you're in Midtown and people want to go out, this is probably the best you're going to do in that neighborhood as far as selection is concerned. The ambience just depends on the weather. Sitting outside is great when the weather cooperates, but it is miserable on a very hot day. And the inside is very "blah". The drink prices are pretty fair and standard. I have no qualms about the service. Basically, if you can't make it to Beer Sellar or Flying Saucer, this is the best bet you'll have.

They have a better selection than I expected based on these reviews. It was nice to see some Terripin and Sweetwater beers on tap, but the best was that they had four taps for Stone products. Most places I have been only have Stone products in the bottle. They had at this time Stone IPA, Stone Smoked Porter, XIII Anniversary and Arrogant Bastard. I did see plenty of the macro brew others talked about and was disappointed in some of the prices for their "High Octane", as they call it. Service wasn't the quickest but the night I went it was pretty packed.

Broadway Brewhouse has the second best beer selection in town, behind The Flying Saucer. Despite that, I prefer this place because I think it has a better atmosphere. The main bar is in the back of this place. It is a long L shaped place that has garage doors that open the place up to the outside.

The one complaint i have about Brewhouse is it is one of the most expensive places I have found to get a beer in Nashville. A 10 oz pour of Hoegaarden is 7.25 and local beer goes for about 5.25 (which is about 1.25 higher than average).

A good choice while in Nashville for sure.

Good music in this very large place on Broadway in the middle of the tourist district, but not as crowded as Big River down the street, but seemed to be more local people and not the stuff shirts in BR that caused me to walk out (and recognizing every beer on tap from drinking the chain elsewhere a year ago).

Broadway Brewhouse has a great selection of beers, many local, though I didn't get a clear count. I had a Terrapin Rye Ale on draft, well served, but not as good as I had read about. Highland Gaelic was next, which is well worth the effort--a very good amber ale.

Had a veggie burrito that was odd but turned out well. Seemed a bit cold at first but it really grew on me. Nice flavor with a different take w/ a cheesy southern styled sauce with the standard rice and black bean burrito. However, a local at Blackstone said to eat at the Mojo Grille, so that's why I held out. Non-veggie items may be better, but I don't do that.

Overall, a nice stop if I'm there but won't work overly hard to ever get back. Served the purpose that night. Again, the crowd seemed young on a Friday night and bent on other things that just beer, but everyone around me seemed to be drinking well.

(This review is for the original location at 1900 Broadway near Vanderbilt, not the downtown location)

I'm a big fan of the Broadway Brewhouse and recommend it for any beer lover looking for a place to take friends whose idea of a good beer is Bud Select. They have 70 beers on tap ranging from PBR to Dogfish Head 90 so you should be able to find something for everyone. There are also a number of varieties in bottles if you need even more variety. Not a place for the beer connoisseur to spend many a long night, but definitely a great place for lunch or dinner.

Here are some other notes:

1)If you visit on a winter night (as I did the first time), the bar will appear to be a dark, smoky hole that no one would want to spend time in. However, if you come in the summer or on a nice day, the "walls" of the bar turn out to be garage doors which they roll up creating an open, patio-like atmosphere.

2)Dogfish Head 90 on draft. I know, I already said that, but it bears mentioning again. It, Stone's AB and one other strong beer (whose name escapes me) are available in reasonably priced 10 oz. servings for those who need to get back to work (or make the drive home).

3)Happy hour is 11-7 every week day (as of July 2007) and all draft pints are a $1 off. PBR for $2, what more could you ask for if you're trying to join...

4)The "69 Club" earns you a t-shirt (and your name on a plaque) for drinking 69 different beers. No fee to join, no time limits unlike some other places.

5)The full-menu of the attached Mojo Grill is available. Above average food featuring a variety of Cajun, southwestern and Caribbean dishes you won't find most other places. If you eat in the restaurant, you can easily come around and get a beer to go with your meal.

All in all, not a place for the beer elite, but a great place to have a round or two, a good meal and soak up some old-style bar atmosphere.

This is the downtown Nashville bar that has the most taps, almost 70 or so. But out of the 70 there are about 25 beers worth having here since the rest are every macro ever created. But I still prefer the 25 that did entice me over most other bars in Nashville. A few Blackstone, Highlander, Sweetwater, and Yazoo beers were my choice over the two days I visited.

The place was rather dark and a super long straight bar was packed with plenty of younger drinkers enjoying Bud Light and such. There is a smaller bar in the next room where an acoustic guitar player was serending the crowd with some country music. A few TVs about the bar keep your interest while drinking.

Service was spotty based on the crowd size and the bartenders I dealt with seemed to know some of the beers I requested. Food did not look good at all, but I didn't try it either.

Defintely worth a stop to get to try a different Yazoo beer from the usual Pale Ale offered around town and a few other micros.

70 beers on tap?! Sounds like a Beer Advocate's dreams come true, but then you get the beer list. After you sort through the American Domestics, and then imports you can get at every other bar you have ever been to (Heineken, Guinness, Harp, Stella, Newcastle, etc.) that leaves a good 20 beers you would like, and maybe 10 you really want to try. (For me, a big one was Sierra Nevada Porter. I am from Minnesota, so the only SN I have ever seen on tap is the PA.) There was an absence of any Belgian's or any 'big beers' which was a little weird. I think Lowenbrau was the only one along that line that I saw.

When you walk into this place, to your left is the bar, stretching basically the length of the place, and to the right is the Mojo Grille, almost in a similar fashion to the bar, a long stretch of counter in front of the kitchen. I didn't try it, although my buddies and I did sit down to eat lunch there but then left when we saw the small menu, but of course, that's no testament to the quality, it smelled decent to me.

Nothing to even note about the service in my experience. I asked for it, I got it. I did not get a feeling there were any quality recommendations or comments coming, but they were timely and smiling.

This is still a new place I guess, so there is still a lot of finishing that could get done, but I had a good time there, no complaints, but nothing that wowed me.

Not a bad place to drink, especially on a Sunday night when they have 2 for 1 drafts. They probably have 20 or 30 taps. Decent selection, nothing extraordinary, although its hard to tell since they don't appear to have a beer menu that tells you exactly what all they have. They do have Yazoo, a local beer, although more and more bars around the city are starting to sell some of the Yazoo brews. They have some good bottles as well, including Young's Double Chocolate Stout.

As the name implies the bar and the grill are semi-seperate establishments, although they are in the same building. The Mojo Grill has pretty good food, most of it cajun/southwestern, and you order it at their seperate counter.

They have a couple of locations around the area and are opening a new location right in the heart of downtown.

Overall, it's a nice place to grab a decent pint and some good food, particularly when they are offering drink specials. However if you are looking for a first-rate beer bar there are certainly better places around town.

Visited in April, and I think this place would be better in warm weather when they open the patio - as it was, much of the back bar area was protected with canvass curtain walls, giving the place something of a MASH tent feel. A brick patio in the front was also covered, but not heated or in use. The dining area had all the charm of a short-order diner. Around back was the bar, with an impressive number of tap handles crowed into a pretty small space. Only about 30% macro, with the rest divided between true craft brewers, "pseudo-micro," imports and local brewer Yazoo. A half-dozen flying dog taps, which is the most I've seen around here. No beer menu, and it is hard to read the taps on the back wall. A respectable, but not impressive, selection of bottled beers were evident in the coolers.

The bartender was prompt, but when we asked her what they had from local Yazoo, she named a couple of their regular beers and also a "special," which I suppose means a seasonal. When we asked her what the special was, she said she didn't know, but whatever it was, it was special. That was helpful.

We ordered food at the bar, and the service was prompt. I had seafood gumbo, which was tasty and loaded with sausage and shrimp, but it had been cooking together quite a while, and the rice was quite mushy Some people may like it that way, but I like the rice added at serving.

The bar was tight and smoky. The men's restroom had a toilet, two urinals and a sink (no partitions) in a room the size of a phone booth.

I might give this another try in warmer weather, when they have more room and more open air. But, as it was, I wasn't overwhelmed, particulary since Nashville has quite a few nice places downtown.
