Initially found this place via Facebook. It is tucked away in corner of a strip mall off brea blvd, near a guitar center. the owner, Frank, is an eager learner of craft beers. He is growing with the craft beer scene just like the rest of us, very cheerful and upbeat. Not snobbish, nor acts superior like other bottle shop owners can be.

The selection is getting better, day by day. Just yesterday the shop actually got a case of Jester King Black Metal. Plus recently he had got a few cases of some of the 50/50 eclipse variations. Which is not bad, it may be safe to say for specialty beers, this is the spot for the city of Brea.

Safe yourself the trouble of going to BevMo, and Total Wines and just make this your first stop.

From the outside, it appears you're about to step into a hole in the wall liquor store that only carries smokes and macros, till you get to the little plastic display set into the stucco filled with empty craft beers.

Walking inside you enter nirvana, albeit a slightly brown and cluttered nirvana. This is the only place where I took off points.

Craft is located against the coolers. 3 coolers filled with pales and ipas. 2 aisles straight to floor with craft from all over. If it's distributed in SoCal, Frank gets it. Occasionally older vintages appear from the back, from times when shelf space needed to be freed up temporarily. Prices are MSRP, and the selection is outstanding. Have a question and an answer is always ready.

The store also keeps a good stock of wine and unique spirits as well, making it easy to never have to go to BevMo or TotalWine

Facebook updates keep you informed what has come in new from a shipment and what Frank is restocking, with the occasional notification on unique spirits and wines.

Hacienda Beverage is a nice bottle shop in a strip mall off of Brea Boulevard. From the outside, it looks like your typical liquor store. However, once you enter, they have lots of craft beers in both coolers and out on shelves. I really like Frank. He's always trying to better his selection, and he's a nice, easy to talk to guy.

If you're in the Brea area and are looking for some interesting beers, I'd stop by here before BevMo or Total Wine.

As for the selection, it's pretty solid. They get most of the West Coast limited releases, but when they do come in, they sell out fast. They maintain a Facebook page, so they are always providing current information, especially with their limited releases. I think because they are newer in the craft scene than other established high-end bottle shops, they don't get the same allocation that others do. For example, they get Damnation but not Pliny, though they're working on it.

As a testament to how Frank deals with his customers in the most fairest way, with the recent Parabola release, they received 2 cases. First case was released in the morning, the second case was released at 5 p.m., so people that couldn't get off work or go to college would have a fair shot at buying the limited release.

This is a solid bottle shop I highly recommend. It is always getting better too. If I lived closer to Hacienda Beverage, I'd be here much more often. Well done, Frank.

The BEER SELECTION (examples of some breweries in selection):
Hair of the Dog
Alpine
Coronado
Ballast Point
Midnight Sun
Anchorage
Kern River
Stone
FiftyFifty
De Molen
De Struise
Mikkiller
Evil Twin

You'll be able to find more rarer beers here than the bigger places i.e. Total Wine and BevMo. Just know that once a whale comes in (and they do come in occasionally), it sells out quick.

Frank knows what he's doing. He post pics and updates on the FB page, which is what any great craft beer store should be doing. He'll occasionally put out older vintages of popular brews (not IPA's of course). Hacienda's a great place to beer hunt.

Cheers!

Located a couple miles east of the 57, I found myself at Hacienda Beverage on Saturday 1/26/13. Looks like an average run-of-the-mill liquor store until you see the huge stash of beer in the back. Lots of CA goodies, huge selection of imports including tons of Mikkeller. Prices are fine. Looked around and I found a vintage 2010 Oak Aged Yeti which I immediately picked up. Checkout was fine and speedy. A very good liquor store in the end, nothing to really go out of your way for though.

This place is trying to do a great job getting great beers into North OC. They seem to be doing this in spite of some distributors not supporting their efforts as well as they should.

Frank is really on top of things, and seems to be commiting as much space as he can to premium quality stuff. Not often easy for a Liquor Store lacking tons of sales square footage. He is approachable, without the attitude you get at some other places east of him (in Placentia).

I hope he continues to do well. I know I will spend my money there.

Found about this place about 3 months ago via facebook and I' m so glad I went to check it out. The selection is always amazing and Frank is a pretty chill guy. There are some beers that I have been looking for a long time and was able to find them there. He is always updating the facebook page to let you know what is coming in and what is currently in. I've some great beers from Stone, The Bruery, Drakes, and many other breweries. I always make sure I go there first before i go anywhere else for my beer needs. I would definitely recommend this place. Great place to get some good craft beers and some great rare beers too.

Searched and found HB through local Liquor Stores on FB and found them out a while back. It took a long time to get down there but so glad I finally did. I walked in and Frank (The owner) was quick to introduce himself and help out. I was blown away at the selection. Being in North OC, he get's All San Diego and Los Angeles stuff coming in. Found a couple of rares there that I couldn't find at most other local spots. I will be coming back to this spot on a regular basis that's for sure.

They also run a great Facebook page where he posts beers as they come into the store.

Holy shit is this a solid bottle shop. They have bottles I didn't see anywhere else I stopped in the LA area:
Jester King (2 selections)
FiftyFifty Eclipse (1 selection)
Broogoop
And others I don't remember.

In addition to that, many other beers at really reasonable prices (lowest I saw on this trip). About 2/3 of the bottles are in coolers, the rest on shelves. Separated mainly be brewery I think. Most offerings are American craft, but also a reasonable selection of Belgians.

Close to TAPS, a natural one-two punch in Brea. Highly recommended.

Found them on FB and decided to follow and see what would be posted. Shocking of what they have on shelf and keep bringing in new craft into the store. You can find all your usual suspects from CA but also some hard to find gems not found at regular spots. Frank has stepped up his game in the craft selections and to my hearing more to come. ALL craft retail should take notes on how to run a proper FB page and post what comes in. I am a local to this spot and will continue to be. Highly Recommend!
