The brewery is located in a large, repurposed industrial building on one of main streets it Perkasie. It has an attractive tasting room. The patrons were mostly locals and were having a good time. The beer is excellent - particularly the variants of Ralphius - the brewery's well-known and regarded Russian Imperial Stout. It facility in Perkasie is more interesting and atmospheric than the tasting room in Peddler's Village in Lahaska. There are two other breweries, Van Lieus and Mystic Ways, just up the street. It's definitely worth the visit.

They have a good selection of different kinds of beer, depending on when you go. Occasionally, at the Peddler's taproom, the selection was lacking. I enjoyed trying their experimental IPAs. I am preferable to IPAs and they have two decent standard IPAs that are tasty but not stand out (Kragle and Techno). You can get a decent beer there and they usually have different varieties available. However, I had horrible service from the Peddler's village taproom at an outdoor ordering window. They refused to honor a medical exemption (Section 3 of the PA secretary's health order) and refused to serve me. This happened even though 7 other previous times I was served, without a mask, honoring the medical exemption. This is OUTDOORS with 6 foot distance easily maintained. More than refusing to serve me, they were rude about it. But that isn't the full reason I rated their service and vibe as low. It was what happened afterward. When I tried reaching out to the owners to discuss this maltreatment and discrimmination, they did not call me back. Multiple messages left. All I needed was a discussion regarding this, especially considering, the majority of the times I had been there, there was zero problem. I have been a long time customer and supporter and was extremely disappointed to be treated with such disdain. I purposely supported them during the lockdown by ordering from them and buying at our local distributor but clearly this does not matter to the owners. This is very disappointing. Fortunately, there are plenty of other very good breweries and taprooms in the area that I now frequent. The irony of all of this - their name is FREE WILL but I was not afforded the free will to enjoy a beer outdoors.

I stopped by here at the end of a workday to sample some of their beers. The 4-beer sampler is key and I stuck to lighter pale ales, IPAs, and pilsners. Everything I drank was really good and highly recommend coming here. There was a good vibe and it was getting crowded. Since I was alone, the large glass windows showing the brewing operations kept me intrigued and entertained. I recommend coming here to try the amazing beer.

Stopped in on a Saturday night. I was impressed overall. The vibe was...whatever you wanted! Loud and boisterous in one spot, calm and chill in another. A good selection of beers on tap and the employees were very knowledgeable and helpful with their recommendations. Really enjoyed the 2016 barrel aged Ralphius they had on tap. The place was busy, but the bartenders kept things flowing. Good selection of take home brews and swag available. Lots of seating outside, in the main tap room, and in the "tank room" in the back. Food trucks on site, or bring your own. Overall, a really cool place to hang out in Perkasie.

Nice little brewery on a mixed residential/commercial street in Perkasie, a nice little town off Route 309 in Bucks County. There also is a taproom at Peddler's Village in Lahaska, about 15 miles further east, but this review is for the main Perkasie location, where all Free Will beers are brewed. Vibe is very laid back unless they're having a special event, in which case it can get very crowded - you might want to check the calendar on their website before visiting. They also post which food trucks will be there on weekends - Tre Locally Sourced is a particularly good one. The beer selection is usually very varied listing of 10-15 pours - all their year-round beers (Techno, Kragle, Micromanager, etc.) plus a number of seasonal/special releases. Usually at least one or two sours and one or two stouts. Typically they'll have a couple of beers on nitro - if you get a chance to try Wee Heavy (10.8% ABV Scotch Ale) on nitro, take it (unless you're driving!). The Perkasie taproom has about 6-7 tables, stools along a rail that seat about 15 people, and 10 or so more stools on two sides of the bar. To-go cans (crowlers and 16 oz. 4-packs and 12 oz. 6-packs) are in a cooler behind the bar and stacked along a side wall, as are bottles of their saisons and other specialty releases. Swag is on a back wall, there's also special event space and another bar in the brewery room, which is separated from the taproom by a wall with large glass windows. The staff is very friendly and even when the place is packed, I've never had a problem getting prompt and courteous service.

Very cool place to hang and drink some beers. Nice outdoor area when the weather is right and there two different indoor areas for drinking when the weather isn't cooperating. Their website lets you know what food trucks will be there from Thursday to Sunday, so you can plan your trip accordingly. The place was packed on Saturday when I was there. but I had no trouble getting a beer or food. Plenty of seating and easy parking.

I did not expect to see Kragel and Techno on tap at the same time. I had high expectations about visiting and was a little disappointed with the vibe of the place. They make a favorite beer of mine but their facility could be better. Other nanos in Pennsylvania and NY manage to sell soft pretzels w/ dips, soppressata and cheese, and beef jerky. Just a request.

Cement floors, super high ceilings, picnic tables located inside of the brew house and no food kitchen (but a food truck located outside on most days at specified hours).

This is a cool place to visit with solid beers. No obnoxious TV's, it gets noisy, but a very cool small brewery vibe going which keeps me coming back to this place.

What can we say about this place? This is easily where we set the bar (no pun intended). The selection is amazing, ranging from aged sours to a classic kolsch. The staff is full of friendly faces that are always happy to serve you. Food trucks Thursday to Sunday when they also open up their brew room with plenty of seating and entertainment in the way of corn hole, jenga and tv. I can't say it's home to my favorite brew of all, but I can say that every time we come here we struggle to pick out which brew we want to start with and which to finish with as each and every one has done nothing but satisfy.

The people that run and staff this location deserve your business more than anywhere we've been in the greater philly area. Cheers to Free Will!

Stopped in for Sour Sunday #1 of 2017. Lots people hanging out enjoying a Sunday Funday. No problem finding a table as there was lots of room throughout the brewery to post up and hang out whether you wanted to stand or sit. Were there lines for beer? Of course there were but the staff was prompt, and very friendly so even if there was a wait it was never long. Plus there were a couple different bars open with multiple bartenders so that helped. As the name of the event notes the tap list on this particular day featured a lot of sours, but there were many other beers if sours are not your thing (IPAs, Saisons, Dry Stouts, RIS, Etc.). Getting the sampler is a must as its $10 for 4 tasters of your choice. How are the beers? Great! I had only had a couple of Free Will's beers before and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of all the beers they offered. I sampled Cuvee Aigre, Whit, Peachy McPeachface, the Pomisher and Green Pony. I particularly enjoyed Cuvee Aigre and Green Pony (Saison collab with Kent Falls). Did they have food? There is no kitchen in house but they did have a food truck there. On this particular day they were offering table services, which was convenient. You put your order in with the truck then when it was ready they called your cell phone then came in and found you. Finally don't forget to take some beer home. Lots of different options for take out (12 packs, 4 packs, single bottles, growlers, etc.). I made sure to take Home some Cuvee Aigre and Ralphius (which is awesome).
Overall it was a really enjoyable event at a great. A good place to get together with family and friends to enjoy some excellent beers. I highly recommend and would definitely go back whether it was Sour Sunday or just any random day for a beer.

Finally got around to visiting Free Will. It's about a mile from Sellersville Theatre, so pretty easy jaunt for pregaming a show. It's a cool spot in a somewhat quiet area. Large room, medium-sized bar, brewery operations in plain view. Lots of merch and tons of cans/bottles for sale. They don't have food, but they do let you bring your own. (I walked a block down the road to the Perk for take out.) I've never been a big fan of FW's beer I'm sorry to say, and even with a great brewer now in their ranks (dude from McKenzie), I haven't noticed much of an improvement, which makes me wonder how much liberty (free will?) they're actually giving him there with the recipes. They make a LOT of different beers, and on paper most of them sound like good ideas, but I really just haven't found one that I've wanted to have more than 0-1 times. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my visit here, and would probably go back next time I'm in town for a show.

My favorite brewery and taproom in the Greater Philadelphia area. Nice little tasting room in a small town, pretty empty on a Sunday evening before closing time. They have 17 taps, including 3 nitro lines. Their offerings range from an IPA to a pomegranate sour and a barrel-aged Belgian Quad, but whatever they have it will surely be excellent. Super nice servers, chill atmosphere and even tables inside the brewing area, right next to the barrels and the tanks. Their Sour Sunday event is amazing- 17 taps of all sour beers.

A must in Bucks County/Philly/PA/NJ!

Free Will's tap room is a stripped down and fairly basic atmosphere, with exposed ceilings and partially exposed brick walls. There are 4 large viewing windows into the brewing space which provide depth to the moderately lit room.

There is a 10 seater L shaped bar, which is made of a thick wood top and barrel staves as the sides/base with metal stools. There is a long table/bar at the windows facing into the brewing area with 7 stools. Otherwise there are (3) 4 seater high tops, 1 long high top with 8 stools, 1 long table with 8 chairs, a nice leather couch with 2 more chairs in front of it, and 3 picnic tables outside. In short, plenty of seating!

There are currently 17 beers on tap, with a good variety of beer options, but only 1 stout/porter, and noticeably absent is a wit/white/wheat (which in my preference that's ok). Beer sales are available in bombers and 12oz.

All and all, this is a nice brewery that when in the area I would gladly come back to!

Arrived on a Friday afternoon just as it was opening. The vibe inside the new taproom is great. Big glass windows give you a view right into the room that houses their steel fermenters. Nice array of beers on-tap, including a couple of their fruit lambics. I started off with a Kriek Lambic before opting for a Bourbon Vanilla Brown, the Kriek by far being the better of the two. I didn't get to chat much with the bartenders, as I was sitting off to the side, but service was friendly. If you don't feel like sitting inside, you can bring your glass with you to one of the picnic tables set up right outside the brewery. That's also where you'll find a food truck on certain days, and I got some incredible buffalo chicken nachos from the one that was there. They have six-packs along with single bottles of their lambics and other rotating offerings to-go, available both warm or cold. A cool little hangout that's worth checking out if you're nearby.
