New brew pub in the Westfield Shopping Centre, Stratford from the same people behind Uttobeer and The Rake
Visited on a Tuesday afternoon, 4p to 5pm, so a little quiet
Modern style brew pub with an L shaped bar and wooden floors/tables (high and low) with a mixture of stools of differing shapes and sizes and sofas and armchairs
3 coppers from the brewery visible to the side of the bar
6 cask ales, 3 of their own (£3.30 a pint so fairly reasonable) - stout, IPA and a bitter, plus guests and 10 keg taps featuring Belgian, Dutch and UK microbreweries (McChouffe, Lovibonds and Black Isle amongst others)
Bottled menu is pretty impressive, 150 ish from the USA to the UK, Germany, Belgium, Scandatlantica and more!
Food is available but didn't sample, the large pork pies look good
Not the sort of place I'd go out of the way for to spend a 'long - all day' session, as it has rather a 'pass through' feel about it, being in a shopping centre and was a little on the cold side having an open side leading onto the concourse (bearing in mind it was a relatively mild winters day)
A great effort none the less and fantastic to see a brew pub (their IPA was decent) in a shopping centre in the UK
Certainly a must if you are in the area and if you have time or live in London well worth the trip out for an hour or two to sample their own beers, just not the kind of relaxing place you'd want to spend too long in, but I guess it isn't designed to be so?!?
7 minute walk from Stratford Regional (trains to Liverpool St, Jubilee & Central lines LU and London Overground)
1 minute walk Stratford International (Eurostar and fast trains to Saint Pancras and also DLR)

I stopped in here for a swift half (well, third to be precise - this is one of the few establishments that will sell you anything by the 1/3 pint measure) one afternoon while being shown around London by my friend; he wanted to show me the Olympic site, and I agreed on the condition that we check out Tap East as well.
The pub is just another unit in the gigantic mall, but thankfully it's tucked away in a corner; this placement means that the pub's own music (classic rock and oldies while I was there) is audible over the mall's abhorrent easy listening soundtrack.
The atmosphere was quite modern and stark, with lots of glass; seating consisted of a decent number of tall tables with stools - cozy is the last word I would use to describe this place, which I found to be a turnoff.
The beer selection went a long way to making me feel more welcome, with quite a nice mix of high-quality casks, taps, and bottles. Three of Tap East's own beers were available on handpump (the two I tried were rather pedestrian), and there was a nice mix of American, Belgian, and German offerings in both kegged and bottled form.
Prices were good on the casks, but seemed a trifle high on the bottles - although that was generally my impression of most of the better London pubs, so Tap East is right in line.
Service was definitely a strong point, with both samples and advice offered freely.
If you're in the area to shop or see the Olympics, Tap East is likely your best bet for a decent drop. I'm not eager to go back myself, but that's just because it's out of the way and not quite as interesting as central London standbys like Craft Beer Co, The Euston Tap, etc.

Popped in on our trip to westfields shopping centre. Very easy to get to & a nice place for a break from shopping.
This place had a good vibe & is clean. Service is fast & was'nt keeped waiting. Lots of bottles to have in or take away, about ten taps. They do food but did not have. The prices were on the high side but thats london so for london its reasonable.
Well worth popping in for a beer or two or three. When at westfields i shall always make a stop here as it can only get better with time. A nice place.
