Had on tap at the brewery and then took home a growler.
Brilliantly clear amber with golds and browns. One inch off -white head that settles out fairly quickly.
Aroma was kinda' tight with a soft yeast quality and hints of malt.
Nice toasty and crunchy quality to the malt. Soft, but noticeable hopping with some flavor and gentle bittering.
Moderately light feel and carbonated at a medium level.
A solid drinking ale. Nothing shocking or bold, but nothing discouraging or unpleasant either.

Dark amber/ copper color with just over one finger of head that held on for awhile before settling to a thin cap. Modest amount of lacing is left down the glass.
Certainly smells of its German ingredients. A little toasted malt and noble hops. The yeast seems neutral and not adding any influence.
Has a nice toasted malt flavor in a way that Germans like their beer. Not as hoppy as I would of wished as this is very much in the malty spectrum. Just a slight pepper hop flavor. Slightly sweet finish.
Lighter body with adequate carbonation. Nothing really of note. Might actually feel a little thin.
Probably Mankato's least impressive beer. I was hoping it would be like Schell's Pale Ale of yesteryear. Nothing like that beer as this is more toasted and less hoppy. I would of liked more hops but it is very approachable with good German flavor qualities.

This beer pours a clear amber color with bronze hues. The head is a half inch in height, and recedes within seconds into almost no lacing. The aroma is full of caramel with some nice nuttiness in the background. The taste is unfortunately less full than the aroma. There is still some caramel and nut flavors, but they are somewhat subdued. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium bodied with moderate carbonation, and a texture that feels both sugary and thin at the same time. Overall, this is an okay beer that I wouldn't complain about having to drink if there were no better choices available, but I can't see myself drinking it otherwise.

Pours a clear brilliant amber with just the faintest sediment present. The head is off white and recedes quickly to a cap.
Honey and warm bready biscuit on the nose. There is just loads of caramel here. Very reminiscent of some of my favorite Oktoberfests.
Starts out malty but there is very little sweetness present which really surprised me given the nose. Again, very Oktoberfest-eque here... although an ale. Dark caramel and almost some dark fruit notes. The maltiness transition into a subtle bitterness in the finish.
M- Smooth and clean.
D- Very interesting. I was expecting it to taste like Fat Tire after examining the nose but it's a different animal completely. I get a lot of German Amber Lager character here. I'd love to have this with some sausage!
