Acquired in a great trade pair with dfclav.

Pours a very fizzy light head that hits about 1 finger, then fades to almost nothing quickly, a hazy golden orange carrot colored beer, with light yeast chunks as I poured a little too quickly.

Nose of light Belgian malts, a cross between a saison and tripel mostly, lots of light Belgian malts like tons of them, nice Belgian yeast aromas with some light fruits of apple, apricot, and pear, a light fruity hop base is there too somewhere but detectable, no real booze though, then a very slight tart fruit like aroma too.

Taste starts with light Belgian malts, a light wheat almost flavor but lots of Belgian malts, fruits up the wazoo bringing more apple, pear, apricot, light citrus tangerine and nectarine, etc, some light sweet candi sugar and apple sauce, a very light citrus and tropical hop kick, the candi sugar gives a definite Belgian feel with some sweetness and touch of warming booze, and a very light tart light acidic taste. Finishes a bit drier but not much, lingering tart fruits, Belgian yeast fruits, light candi sugar and warming booze, little sticky, and lingering bitterness.

Mouth is med bodied with quite a bit of carbonation, maybe even more than necessary, and a bit of warming booze.

Overall it's pretty good, nice Belgian malts and yeast, as well as light candi sugar and sweet flavors, lots of fruits both bright fruits and light tart flavors, it's pretty tasty, a bit of warming booze and the fruits are a little much though.

Pours a hazy, straw/gold color. 1/5 inch head of a white color. Decent retention and slight lacing. Smells of grapes, tartness, hint of hops, hint of sweet malt, and a hint of sugar. Fits the style of a Belgian Strong Pale Ale. Mouth feel is sharp, crisp, and an average carbonation level. There is also a tartness and slight dryness present. Tastes of grapes, tartness, slight pale malt, hint of hop, and a hint of sweet malt. Overall, good tartness, decent body, and mostly dominated by grape flavors.

Pours a cloudy dull gold color into my Chimay chalice. Lots of floaties add to the cloudiness. The delicately bubbly white head is small and fades fast. Smell is pretty good....Belgian yeast, light fruit and pepper. Taste is similar. I have a bad habit of not waiting for the beer to warm up before sampling. In this case, I missed out on the yeast flavor (some Tripels and other Belgian beers that I like have an almost cheese like aroma and flavor from Belgian yeast).

When the beer was warmer, this very welcome flavor became apparent. In the meantime the apples and pears, slight hops bitterness and touch of pepper took care of the first half of the bottle. The other flavor that kicked in towards the end was a little sourness. This provides a nice counterbalance to the fruit sweetness.

Mouthfeel is rich like a Belgian should be. Alcohol presence is minimal despite the 9.8% abv. Complexity makes this interesting.

Well worth a try.

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a cloudy light golden amber with lots of white floating particles. Fine two finger white head with good retention, lots of carbonation and lacing. Aroma of light fruit, Belgian yeast, coriander with light bready malt, slightly vinous and sour. Flavor is interesting, starting with sweet fruit juices and Belgian yeast and spices, then changing to a dryer, slightly sour and wine like finish, but with some light sweetness residual at the back of the tongue. Body is medium with nice creaminess. Warming. A very nice Belgian with a very interesting flavor progression. I will get this again.

On tap at the Hudson St. Stackhouse.

The beer pours a slightly hazy, gold color with great head retention and considerable lacing. The is attractive, but a bit reticent. I get some light honey and clove, but with some underlying nutmeg and light sour. The flavor profile replicates the nose, but seemed better, with the sweet honey and vanilla dominating the light sour. There's some cherry, candy orange slice and grape in the flavor profile as well. Still, the light sour really helps the mouthfeel, as the beer is light on its feet for a 9.8% beer, and drinkability is exceptional. The beer is fairly sweet, but there's enough light sour to counter it, and keep the beer from becoming heavy or cloying on the palate.

Nice beer, no doubt....

Poured this at a good temperature with a smallish off-white, foamy head that settled right down and a bit of lace. Color is a clear amber with a couple of bubble trails. Aroma is yeast, citrus, malt, grass, spice. Flavor’s like nose, a bit vineous, very slightly sweet, a bit fruity, some tartness, some bitter. Body is ok, ditto carbonation. Finish is like flavor, on the pungent side, and longish with a little alcohol warmth. Ok beer, not one of the best.

The Dogfish Head snifter contains a cloudy, honey-gold beer. Effervescence produces a modest white head that quickly retreats.

The aroma is fresh and clean, similar to white wine. There is some earthiness and sour dough.

This difficult-to-pronounce beer has a light tartness with a hint of bitterness in the finish. Again it is quite suggestive of white wine.
Dry with alcohol as expected. The body is full and palate coating.

More enjoyable than scoring might suggest. This beer warms well on its own and is good with spicy pasta.

A: Pours a bright, hazy gold with a thin, creamy white mousse that laces deep into the glass.

S: Aromas of lemon, lime, oak, spicy ale yeast, grass, herbs, and some lactic, acetic funk are present on the nose. This ale definitely stands out compared to many other examples of the style.

T: Notes of grass, hay, lemon, lime, heavy cream, white pepper, oak, talc, chalk, fresh herbs, biscuits, and spicy, funky yeast are pronounced. The finish is smooth and long with an intriguing interplay of yeasty funk and citrus.

M: This ale is light-bodied for the style, starting off dry, but smooth, and gradually becoming denser and stickier. Carbonation is gentle. Alcohol presence is restrained.

O: This is a quality Belgian strong pale ale with a unique flavor profile. As a matter of fact, I would not hesitate to call Zingende Blondine eccentric compared to its peers. If you enjoy quirky ales, this one is worth tracking down and savoring.

Pours a hazy, dark golden yellow color with a half finger white foam head that quickly settles into a lastig ring. Sporadic spots of lace left behind.

Sweet ester-y fruit aroma with some zesty spice, subtle hops and alcohol. Crisp fruit notes, notably apple, pear and grape countered by floral/piney hops and peppery spice.

Medium bodies with a slight creamy texture and some sort carbonation up front followed by a prominent yeast presence that gives off hints of crisp, light fruit. There's also some zesty spice with hints of pepper and clove followed by some earthy hops and alcohol sweetness that lingers into a slight dry finish.

A bottle from Tria Rittenhouse poured into a tulip glass. Bottle reads "Singing Blonde," presumably for those of us who aren't fluent in Flemish.

The body is slightly hazy, and the color resembles that of a Berliner Weissbier, as it is light straw in color. The head is lively, but it is fleeting and lingers only for a second or two. The head only reaches about a cm max in height. Coarse and fizzy, it never has a chance. However, towards the bottom of the glass, I do get some spiderwebbed lacing around the sides, starting just in the middle of the tulip's bulb.

The aroma is tropical and spicy. Clove and coriander go along with some grapefruit zest. As a result, there is a clean sourness that tastes like a young lactic character. This beer smells and tastes like the cross between a Berlinerweiss and a Belgian Strong Pale Ale. I get the bready supple feel that is so characteristic of a Belgian yeast strain. As mentioned before, the clove and coriander notes are there, but there is also some white pepper in the flavor. The grapefruit citrus note fades, but the tart kick remains. Interesting.

Lively and light on the palate. A very bright-feeling beer, I don't think there is enough complexity or body to really put this one over the top, but it is a compelling take on a Belgian Pale Ale, and I would say it is definitely worth trying.

This beer poured a hazy golden color and formed a snow white foamy head that coated the glass with lace as is subsided. A medium amount of carbonation is present. An aroma of barley, spices and pepper. The flavor was of malt, hosp, spices, candy and pepper. The body was light and the finish slightly sprite.
