Enjoyed at the brewery, on tap and in a pint glass. Pour s a light brown with a tan head. Nose has mellow malts and hops. Lacks the interesting, almost metallic or mossy flavors I look for in an authentic English ESB. You just don't find that here in America. Really a lost style and a lost art. Bring back the cask!

First had: on tap at their brewpub

Poured a clear amber brown with tiny reddish hues around the rim, and a moderate white head. Bready aroma, with notes of subtle leafy hops. Pretty cut and dry flavor: biscuity backbone, sweet malts, mildly bitter, woody, gently roasty, and gently hoppy. Medium body, and quite drinkable, even if not overflowing with flavor.
