A- Pours a wonderful red beet color with a thick cotton candy head that disappears down to a slick. Wisps of lacing.
S- Smell is pleasant. Leans sweet with heavy cherry presence. Slight sour notes as well. Not quite the wild yeastyness some of these beers have, but that's quite all right.
T- Here, it is way too sweet. Sweet cherries hit up front and hit hard and dominate, not letting any other flavor notes in. A slight metallic note and a bit of sourness in the finish, but really it's for the most part one-dimensional.
M- Strong carbonation up front but dies mid sip. Starts soda-y and and finishes heavy.
O- A decent lambic, but there are better ones outh there. It's just a little too one-dimensional on the cherries for me.

Pours a clean deep reddish color, with a pink head. In the aroma, small sour cherries. In the taste, it is kind of like cherry Kool Aid, with a nice tartness. A smooth and lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a semi dry dark cherry aftertaste. Nice small tartness, and not medicinal at all.

A= Pours nice red in color with a pinkish head some slight lacing.
S= Kind of has a wine smell to it a little cherry smells kind of sour.
T= The taste is really lacking. Really isn't one can't pick up on to much kind of watered down it taste like colored water with a little bit of not really any cherry flavor really weak.
M= Nice carbonation, light in body.
D= Drinkability would be low for me at $4.50 a bottle this beer is basically useless.

Poured from 11.2oz bottle.
A- Pours a cherry red color...surprising! Half finger pinkish head shows low retention and is gone in a matter of seconds. Web style lacing is light but all over the glass while drinking.
S- Sweet artifical cherry flavor upfront. Not really picking up anything that is sour just a sweetness. A hint of malt but mostly just sugary sweet cherries.
T- A huge sweet cherry flavor on the upfront of this beer with a hint of light soured cherry to it. In the middle of the beer there is a light metallic hint which actually adds the only real other flavor to this beer besides cherries. The ending of the beer is not only sweet alcohol but also sickly sweet cherry.
M- Medium heavy mouthfeel. Carbonation was actually quite well for this beer. Cherry dominated the entire palate. I mean this shit stuck to your teeth and lips with cherry resin. Aftertaste was the same super sweet cherry with hints of sweet alcohol that fade faster than the overall cherry flavor. Blended once again to the correct style just overly sweet cherry. Metallic off flavors were light with this beer but the biggest part of off flavors came from the sickly sweet cherry. Light alcohol drying on the palate.
D- This beer was too sweet for me to actually enjoy it and take it seriously. The ABV is low so I think a lot of people who don't drink beers will enjoy this one. A syrupy mess at times and at other times just too damn sweet. I'll pass on this one for future purchases.

Appearance: This sample has a magnificent candy-apple red color. In addition, it produces an interesting pink head with loads of lacing. This brew has a striking appearance.
Smell: This beer has tons of cherry notes in the nose. Behind the wonderful fruit aromas there are hints of almond cookie in the background.
Taste: This sample starts out with loads of awesome cherry flavor and sour flavors. Next the beer has an off bitter and metallic taste. After appearance and taste, I was let down by the beer's taste.
Mouthfeel: Dry and inviting.
Drinkability: This is a good dessert beer and even a fun beer to drink on a hot Sunday afternoon. The off aftertaste would keep me from drinking more than one a night.

Pours a dark red, verging on purple. Big pink head with good retention. Thick lacings all the way down.
Sickly sweet aroma of sugar and cherries.
Sweet up front. Bearable at first with just a touch of tartness. But the tartness fades away quickly and the finish gets a bit nasty with some cloying sweetness.
I've had some sweetened krieks before that I can appreciate them for what they are, but not this. A real mess of a beer. The point of sweetening labics up is to appeal to the masses, I can't imagine who this appeals to.

11.oz bottle into a tulip. Pours a light clear red, almost like a white zinfinadel wine....The aroma is super light, only a touch of sweet cherries on the front, wish they were tart...The taste is really bland, just juice, no taste or flavor here at all. Some Timmermans I really like, but this one is total garbage.

33cl bottle brought from Scotland by my brother. Pours a cranberry juice color with a finger of light pinkish head. Nose is all sweet candy cherry, very artificial. No sourness or funk. Taste echoes this, faintest sourness in the finish, syrupy thick mouthfeel, cherry cola like fruitiness. Not a great lambic but not undrinkable.

This pours very dark red with a red tinged finger of head.
Very strong cherry aroma with a distinct musk stick edge to it. Doesn't smell natural, but I like it anyway.
What a sour bomb! Sweet sour sweet sour. Love it.
Very heavy mouthfeel.
Look I like what they've done here. Does it taste like beer? No. Much more like some sort of soft drink but who cares, it's fun.
Would I want a second? Not tonight but definitely some other time.

25 cl long-necked brown bottle. Red label with cherries and on old-looking pic of brewery-workers in the old days...
A: Pour is deep red and the surprisingly large compact pink head dissipates slowly into a little lace.
S: Sweetness from the cherries (?). Some wheat - faint ripe bananas. Citric notes. Almost no yeast...
T: Way to sweet at first, but then the sweetness sets and other flavours evolves; dry cherries, wheat but only a little brett.
M: Mouthfeel is a bit sour. Body is light and carbonation is medium, but very smooth. Aftertaste is long and holds a sour dryness.
D: I really like Kriek, but this one is to sweet for my taste and I missed the brett-feeling. This could work as a "Kriek-for-beginners".

The fluid is clear deep red, with a hint of brown, the head bleak pink leaving good lacing.
The smell is very sweet and definitely cherry, more like cherry soda than anything else.
The taste is also cherry dominated and extremely sweet, but with some refreshment from the lambic sourness. also bitter notes - probably from cherry seeds.
A strong carbonation enhances the soda experience.
In all a bit to much soda for me, needs to be moderated with some strong coffee and a small biscuit...

Thanks to Dickinsonbeer for this...
Appears a transparent orange with a crimson hue when held to the light. The mild white/pink head quickly fizzles out into nothing.
The smell is of vinegar, tart cherries, minerals, and faint rubber.
Taste is also of major, tart cherries with a citrus, and vanilla flavor that leads to funky minerals in the mouth.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, moderate carbonation that tingles the tongue on the way down.

Appearance - 4.0
Poured two fingers of solid, flesh coloured head that sits over a deep red-brown body that is slightly hazy.
Smell - 3.5
Quite typical aroma of a modern, sweeter kriek. A musky aroma of cherry syrup with a little lambic sourness.
Taste - 3.0
The sourness of lambic is certainly there, especially when ice cold. However, it is not quite enough to balance the sweet cherry syrup flavour.
Mouthfeel - 3.5
Feels quite thick and sticky in the mouth with a slight puckering sourness and fine carbonation.
Drinkability - 3.0
Too sweet for ultimate drinkability, but it was easy to drink one.
OVERALL - 3.35
Decent, but to me this is just another too sweet lambic based beer that could have been good.

Pours red cranberry juice with sode pop head of 1 cm. Looks like sparkling juice.
Aroma is cherry cough syrup, amaretto, and my mother's German cherry pudding. Hard to detect past that.
Mouthfeel is like slightly flat pop.
Taste is bitter cherry. Strangely medicinal, one dimensional, and not what I expect form a kriek at all. Not working for me.

A - A deep, dark pink colour poured into a tulip with an inch or so of pink tinted white head.
S - Very strong medicinal, cough syrup like cherry aroma.
T - Quite a big chery flavour. A slight tartness.
M - Medium bodied, quite high carbonation.
D - Couldn't see myself buying this all that often, especially with the $8 price tag.

A: Bright red with a two finger pinkish head.
S: Bitter almonds, red berries, sweetness.
T: Cherries, bitter almond, sweetness, bubbly and really pleasant carboration. After taste of bitter almonds and cherries. A hint of bitterness in the after taste.
Decent kriek. Fresh and not to sweet.
Drink this one with a truffel or some other chocolaty dessert. Yummy!

The beer poured into the chalice clear ruby garnet with just a lightly pinkish hue head which barely formed but did make an attempt to lace the glass.
The aroma was sweet with a strong cherry presence and a lightly tart acidic character in the background. The aroma also had a lightly earthy nature.
The flavor was tart and refreshing with a slight bit of sweetness that was by no means overdone and a tart and crisp character that was just a bit husky. The beer was not hardly sour at all and only had a mild tartness at best. The cherry flavor was very strong and worked well with what sour presence was notable.
The finish was even with a moderate cherry flavor into the aftertaste and just a very slight tartness. The body was medium light with a carbonation high enough to let the flavors prickle the palate. The beer did not have much complexity but was quite a refreshing beverage.
12 ounce can, purchased at grocery store in Brussels and brought back to the US to give it a whirl. 4% ABV on can.

The liquid is clear; the colour is deep wine red-purple. The thin head is pink/purple. Some lacing occurred.
The smell is bitter sweet with notes of bitter cherries, cherry jam, cherry stones, some soil, vinegar and gravy. The smell is bit unbalanced in an odd way.
The taste is sweet with some sourness. A flavour of cherry jam is the strongest, but there are notes of cherry stones, and sweet fruit candy. The aftertaste is also sweet with a uncomplicated taste of cherries and a touch of raspberries; it is pretty short and balanced.
The carbonation is representative for the fruit lambics; very strong with large bubbles.
This kriek is a bit more simple than the tradition kriek from the same brewer. Perhaps this is an good introduction to the style?

Pink in colour with a medium sized pink head and good lacing. Medicinal, cherry aroma. Tastes of cherries, white sugar and berries. The flavour is also oaky. Sourness, complexity and malt character seem to be lacking. Light bodied and bubbly. I was expecting this to be better than Belle-Vue Kriek but found it to be too sweet.

Taste Sweet, lots of cherriness, peppery, orange hintrs, vanilla...
Feel - Quite smooth with light carbonation...
Overall - A pretty good kriek. Maybe slightly too sweet.... worth a try though...

Love this beer. Only thing that maybe you could fault it is the fact that it was a little too sweet.
A = Ruby Red with little to no foam.
S = Cherries. What else?
T = Sweet cherries. Almost artificial in taste. Very odd.
M = Very good. Moderately carbonated.
D = Good.

A fair kriek
Poured out of a 25cl bottle/33cl can. Beer has a small to medium sized, quickly diminishing head after a heavy pour.
The smell is incredibly sweet and full of cherries. A bit artificial though, a bit chewing-gum-like even. The taste is a little less sweet than the smell but still a bit over the top. Full of almonds and sweet cherries. Yet again though, there's a soda-like taste about the cherries that bring down this beer.
A lot better than Belle-Vue for sure, but definitely too sweet and artificial. Nice for when you're watching a movie or as a desert brew since it's cheap and very drinkable, but other than that there's nothing special about it.

12.68 oz green glass bottle, corked and capped. Date stamped on back label (03/10/97).
This kriek lambic poured an clear, bubbly, orange-amber color with tall, creamy, off-white foam that persisted and clung to the glass. The smell was a strong, tart/sour cherry aroma with a bit of a wild, lactic (slightly acidic) smell. The taste was mildly sweet cherry with a touch of tartness. Other flavors included: sugar, a woody taste, a touch of cinnamon, and a hint of green apples. The mouthfeel was a bit thin and flat. The body was medium-light with moderate carbonation feel. This beer was OK, but the smell was the strongest feature.
