A - Pours very bright gold/copper. With thick white head. Very attractive beer. Excellent retention.
S - Apple cider type aroma, sour smell. BJCP has 'goaty' listed in aroma, and it's surprisingly accurate, haha. Not the most appealing of aroma, but to style nonetheless.
T - Sour apple again. Very tart and tangy. Well balanced and moderately complex.
M - Highly carbonated, with a slight puckering effect. Again to style.
D - Good.

From Beer Cartel. BB 9/11/13 (!)
Pours a dark straw. One finger head dies to film.
Aromas of apple cider, a little vinegar. No funk/barnyard. hmmm
Taste is quite sweet (!) what - again not to style.. apple cider notes, a hint of sour vinegar, sherbert, lemon, but palate rounded out by somewhat artificial sweet notes.
Mouthfeel zesty, lively, light bodied, very drinakable.
Overall, this is a hot summer night beer, made for drinking not thinking. The price belies that, as does style category. FAIL, but still drinkable.

Clear, golden amber colour with a small white head. Not bad at all.
Lightly tart and mildly funky aroma. Lacking the complexity of good lambic.
Sweet with plenty of artificial sweetener notes. A little grainy. Lacking sourness, funk and yeast character. Disappointing.
Medium light body with moderately low carbonation. Disappointing.
There's not much to say except that this doesn't really work. Disappointingly artificial and sweet.

What the f**k has this beer to do with Gueuze?
It looks and smells like a pilsener and it tastes like nothing.
L: golden look; nice top;
S: if I'm drinking a gueuze I don't want to smell pilsener; where are the bretts?
T: it tastes like sh**t. A sweet, flat, I don't know what I am drinking.
M: soft, flat, too less alcohol.
O: a complete misfigure. A yellow gueuze that doesn't earn this name.

A 330ml bottle with a BB of Sept 2011. Sealed with a crown cap and foil. The ingredients list on the rear label state that this contains 5.3% apple juice - an interesting addition to a 'traditional' gueuze.
Poured into a Sam Smith's pint glass (yeah, I should get a proper lambic glass). A hazy golden-amber hue with plentiful lumps of floating yeast and low carbonation. Forms a large white head of foam that lasts for a couple of minutes before subsiding. A tart, acidic aroma with a hint of sweetness and distinct fruity notes, especially sour apples.
The taste is fairly sour, though by no means over the top for a lambic. Some sugary sweetness, with notes of fruit and tart apples. There is also an artificial character lurking in the background - antioxidents or sweeteners? A dry, sour finish. Mouthfeel is rather astringent and puckering, leaving the palate dry. Mild aftertaste of sour grain/apples.
An OK gueuze but not the best example I've ever tried. The sugary sweetness doesn't sit all that well, and doesn't meld properly with the acidic character. Not too sure about the addition of apples either, this adds a flavour that feels like it doesn't belong. I also found the excessive floating yeast to be a flaw that is visually unappealing. Still, the elements of lambic are present and it would probably make a decent 'starter' for someone new to the style.

Bottle shared with a few others, a huge disappointment in my opinion. Beer is yellow and haze a head that breaks and falls away. Carbonation moderate.
Aroma was grainy and sweet...oh no, what have I done?
This is not a gueuze but a faro, even though they make a faro and this clearly says gueuze on the label I find that hard to believe. It's thin and grainy and sugary sweet. I drank my share unlike the others who just poured it out. Huge disappointment, like I said.

Bottle opened by drabmuh. Thanks, Matt. Served in a Bruery tulip.
Pour yields a slightly-hazy golden brew with a thin white head and not much in the way of retention of lacing. The nose immediately indicates that this is not going to be a very good beer, and certainly not going to be a good gueuze. There is quite a bit of sweetness along with too much fruit. No funk at all. The flavor and palate come together with way too much sweetness. Not quite cloying for beer in general, though certainly so for something calling itself a gueuze. Just gross. Drainpour.

poured from 350ml bottle into Duvel tulip glass
A: Golden, a little hazy with thick 2" white foam
S: apple cider, some funk, caramel, wood
T: apple cider vinegar taste, which then seems to be balanced by some caramel-like sweetness. Flavor is very simple.
M: very light and refreshing.
D: very drinkable. It's nice and refreshing.

BB 8/5/10
a) White fluffy head... clear, dark honey
s) Bready malt (Munich ?), slight stale hop note.
f) Apple cider. Light candy sweetness, followed by tartness. Hint of oak barrel, with a late, light bitterness.
m) Apple astringency, yet very refreshing. Gritty teeth.
d) 5.3% apple juice, hey ? Interesting 'tradition'... makes for a tasty summer drink, yet is light years away from other Gueuzes.... No funk, no gameyness, no smelly socks or stinky cheese rind...

Small capped bottle. Best before January 2010.
Poured into a snifter, it produces a nice honey colored beer, with a short lasting white head that leaves very little lacing.
Aroma is suggesting a tart and acidic beer, but just lightly. Noticeable is the lack of any "funk".
Nicely carbonated, light and refreshing, it is fruity, sweet, tart and quite acidic, but again, no "funk" anywhere to be seen.
It is a very tasty beer, just not a tasty gueuze.

I end up with about a two finger thick, tan-tinged, off-white colored head in my 25cl tulip glass. The beer is a lightly darkened honey color, but shows a lightly hazy, straw gold color when held up to the light. The aroma is lightly tart, almost smelling as if a bit of watered down lemon juice has been added to the beer. An incredibly clean beer, especially for a Lambic, there is almost not funkiness to it at all. A light modeling clay note and perhaps a touch of plastic are all that could even be generously described as funky. The aroma is strangely non-descript, though there is some dusty, crushed wheat aromas here, though only lightly.
Quite a bit more sour than the aroma might have suggested, but there is also a light sweetness to this beer. The combination makes me think of lemon-jelly candies, though this is not a really sweet beer. Lactic acid notes make up the sourness for the most part. Again, as in the aroma, this beer is quite clean tasting, there is really not much in the way of funkiness here. Some dusty, slightly tired grain character leans a bit towards oxidized and there is a touch of hay to the flavor. The body is about in line with a traditional Gueuze, a light fullness to it, but still quaffable.
There is really not a whole lot going on in this beer, it is fairly tart (though certainly not on the hard side for a Lambic) though, so it is a bit puzzling that this beer is so clean. It really could use some characteristic funkiness; even a little bit of Brettanomyces character would go a long way here.

Amber color with a light tan head. Goods retention and lacing.
Tart and sour nose with caramel malts and sweet fruits.
Malty sweet start to a dry and tart finish. Like bitting into a green apple.
Very crisp and refreshing.
Delicous beer that is perfect for a hot summer day.

Light copper, quite limpid, thin bubbles, a veil of a decent foam.
The smell is very sugary. Notes of apple. In the background you can see the sourness, but very unnatural.
Same for the taste. Some sourness in the background, but spoiled by he sweetness.
I can't understand why a beer of this tradition can be spoiled in this way.

Sparkling golden colour, small white head and some lacing. Sweaty and sour aroma. Very intense and funky smell. Tastes lemony, sour and acidic with some suggestions of dry white wine. Medium body and low to moderate carbonation. A complex, sour and intense beer.

Golden coloured with a stark white and fizzy head that actually laced in my glass... to my surprise. Quite clear and sparkling, with a steady bead rising to feed the remaining ring of foam.
Aromas were refreshing and subtle compared to some other gueuzes (Drie Fonteinen). Tart apples and lemon candies with a mild mustiness reminescent of some of the more robust ciders found in and around this region.
Flavours fall in line with the aromas and provide some sweetness to complement the apple and peach flavours. A hint of lemon rind in towards the end dries the mouthfeel but a slight residual sweetness persists into the finish.
Quite drinkable and a decent entry level gueuze for those who might be frightened by the true blue farmhouse funk ambassadors of the style like Cantillon and Drie Fonteinen.
