Appearance
Pale pink with very little head. Extremely cloudy with moderate-heavy carbonation.

Nose
Lactic sourness, lemon and raspberry.

Taste
Nice lactic sourness, tangy wheat and lemon juice. Raspberry with hints of strawberry and perhaps some artificial sweetener. Some caramel drizzled bread.

Mouthfeel
Light bodied, tart, crisp and clean. Really cleanses the palate.

Overall
I didn't order it with raspberry syrup but got it anyway. Nice sour character and substantial flavor for such a low abv.

Will review again when I have the beer on it's own.

This poured out as a milky looking yellow color with a nice white head on top. The smell of the beer was definitely tart, lots of citric acid aromas dominate this brew. The taste of the beer is in fact a lot like a fresh lemonade, makes the taste buds tingle and almost makes the lips pucker. The mouthfeel is decently carbonated with a very light body. Overall this beer is pretty good, I liked it better once the Raspberry syrup was added but that's because I am not a big sour beer fan. Still worth a try.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a snifter.

A - Big white head that dissipates quickly. The bottle gushed open when I cracked it.Cloudy lemon juice yellow.

S - It definitely has some kind of funk to it. How it got there I don't know. Lemons

T - Tart lemon juice from the start. A bit of malt really cleans up the finish nicely.

M - Medium/High carbonation really is a highlight

O - Super solid offering from a new local brewery. That alone makes this beer a winner for me. Will also note that my bottle says 4% ABV yet both this site and their site lists it as 3%.

Draft at Doobies in Philadelphia, PA.

Pours a cloudy, pale golden yellow color with a half finger white head that immediately fades away without any lacing.

Musty, funky aroma with a decent amount of bready yeast and citrus sweetness.  Strong lactic funk character with a prominent swiss cheese presence.  This is countered by lemon peel, sourdough bread and musty brett.

On the fuller end of medium bodied with a tart, slightly puckering sourness that lingers over the sweeter notes into a dry finish.  Strog lactic funk woth again, a strong cheesy/milky flavor.  There's also some musty bret that's countered by sweet citric acid and a sourdough bred flavor.  Lots of lemon peel/citrus  flavor but the cheesy funk is a bit overpowering.

On tap at the brewery. Light yellow, slightly hazy, fizzy white head that settles down quickly, minimal patchy lacing. Big tart and lemony aroma, noticeable cheesiness, some funky foot smell hinted at but not overwhelming. Nonetheless there is a definite funk to this one.

The flavor pretty much leaves that behind however. Big lemon tartness, crisp and quenching acidity, lactic taste, grainy wheat; very dry and squeaky sour finish. Hints of brett-like mustiness.

Light body, solid carbonation, goes down super easy. Totally sessionable. Tarter and funkier than most American Berliners I’ve tried. Recommended, but only to those who don’t mind a little funky foot cheese wafting all up in their grills.

On Tap at Blue Dog

Weister pours a bright yellow color with some slight blond thrimmings, it's almost like squeezed lemon juice with some mild sediment in it. On top, a quarter inch of loose white soapy bubbles, no cling. Dies instantly.

Big spirtz of lemon drops and some barnyard hay with old feet. I don't think any funky yeast was used, but that's what I get. It's pretty straight forward, but not to pleasant, at least for me.

This is one of the more authentic Berliner Weises out there, but it's not my favorite. Lemongrass with a touch of bisquit malt. At some points I get a small amount of bubblegum. Slightly tart, not sour. Good, and insanely drinkable with the 3 percent

Pretty mild on the tartness and slightly acidic on the back of the tounge. The taste seems to fade out towards the end. Light bodied and boldly carbed up. The low ABV makes it easy for a few, i hope to find some six packs some day.

Light straw and light golden yellow with a small off-white head that leaves small dots of stick down the glass.

The aroma is a combination of white fruit (green apple and pear) along with mild lemon, wheat, and some mild sour character. Appropriate, though unspectacular.

The flavor is nice, with the mild fruit character, lemon, wheat, and sour character combining for an incredibly drinkable, enjoyable combination.

Thin to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

A nice, incredibly drinkable berliner.

A - a hazy coconut water color. with a white head and lace dissipates fast

S -Oh Da Funk / lemon aromas. Greek yogurt

T - Brett, lactose ,wheat ,grain and sour make a refreshing afternoon thirst quencher . st8 up you get more of a yogurt sour .when mixed with traditional german syrups like rasberry,peppermint and woodruff the acid balance out and wowsers, stand by .
4 beers for 1 entrance fee.

M - perfect med high level of carbonation and silky tart

O - when i found out they made this in Pa not a German import i fell off my stool . well done boys spot on.
this company is coming in fast and hard with a big variety of beers to choose .worth a trip to the tasting room

Pours a hazed yellow straw, spotty patches of head, little lacing. Scent brings expected tartness, more tangy than overpowering, notes of wheat and yeast, earthy. More tangy than tart, definite presence of grain in the flavor profile, light citrus and watery fruit, earthy. Medium bodied, a touch grainy and not as bright and spitzy as I prefer in the style. Decent into to a new brewer in a style i enjoy.

On-tap at Memphis Taproom, served in a pint glass

The body is an extremely cloudy smashed banana color. A fluffy two finger bone white cap fades in due time. No lacing.

The aroma of funk leaps from the glass. Aged, funky head cheese with lemons. Wow. This is easily the funkiest, dirtiest berliner I have come across.

The flavor profile mimics the nose. Aged, funky cheese with lemons and some clean hay. Amazingly funky. The finish is slightly tart, but overly funky with some bright lemon notes.

Light body, refreshing and just plain dirty in the best way possible.

This is a must have berliner. Completely enjoyable for its uniqeness. Really impressed.

12oz bottle to .3L stange. $3 for the single. Sampled 5/23/12.

A: A semi-aggressive pour produces a thin, wispy white head that fizzes out quickly. A small bubbly ring remain around the glass for a few minutes before fading. The body is a pale straw yellow, very light in color and quite cloudy. Plenty of effervescence can be seen if you look through the haze.

S: It's all about the yeast here - brett and lacto with the typical weissbier esters layered delicately beneath a smack of wheat and rye to play off of the slight sweetness. Lightly funky, mild barnyard, plus Greek yogurt.

T: Bright acidity with a clean, tangy lactic sourness and a bright lemony citrus on the end. The small malt backbone comes through just enough to play a supporting role and adds an appropriate wheat flavor.

M: Moderate sourness with a crisp & captivating acidity throughout. The body is light but the prickling carbonation expands the intensity of flavor and brings in a puckering lemony tartness on the tail end. Dry finish with refreshing effervescence.

O: Color me impressed. Round Guys nailed the beer stylistically. If it isn't already, I hope to see this beer available in cases soon.

12oz bottle into a 25cl Duvel tulip. Thanks to whoever opened this at the tasting.

A: Cloudy yellow body with some fine white head that settles into a thin cap. Not bad.

S: Clean, sharp lactic tartness and not much else. Maybe a hint of cheese and strawberry. Very good.

T: A little funkier here, with some earthiness and a bit of hay on top of the fruity lactic sourness. Dry, wheaty finish. Puckering, dry tartness on the aftertaste. Pretty darn tasty.

M: Light-bodied and with a low amount of surprisingly tingly carbonation. Not the most pleasant, but appropriate for the style.

O: I'd never heard of this beer or brewery before, but it was a seriously pleasant surprise. I loved the simplicity of the sourness. Great take on the style.

Poured from a bottle into a Just Kidding (Jester King) snifter. Pours a very pale, yet at the same time opaque, straw color with a minimal head that recedes/disappears entirely, very quickly. The smell is, well, strange. I'm not going to use the "f" word because I hate it's usage in describing a beer in any capacity. In fact, I don't know how to describe it. It's just...and off smell. It smells the way no beer oughta smell. This beer isn't sour, but it's super tart...like a Sweet Tart or something. It has a touch of sweetness to it as well. The finish is tart, with a sort of graininess to it. It's actually pretty clean and crisp, all things considered. One of this beer's more endearing qualities. Overall, I can see this being refreshing as hell on a scorching summer day where I typically don't even have the desire to consume beer. Otherwise, I can't see myself reaching for one of these. More a product of my own personal taste than because of the beer's quality.

had this on tap at blue dog in chalfont pa . apparently it was one of the first kegs delivered, it was served "straight up" with no syrupy flavorings (witch it is traditionally served with". really grate example of the style, the sourness of the Brett is not overpowering and plays really well off the lemony citrus notes.
this was highly drinkable. i would recommend this to someone wanting to try a sour for the first time. cant wait to try more from this newer brewery.

Thanks to yourefragile for sharing this bottle. Served in a mini gueuze tumbler. Pours a nice straw color with a fizzy white head that recedes like a soda. Thin collar for a bit. The nose has a light bit of lactic acidity and lemon alongside a moderate wheat character. Flavor is fairly wheaty with mild acidity. Not much fruit there. No off character. Body is light and crisp with a touch of acidity and a nice wheat-driven dryness. Pretty good, but nothing over the top.

I appreciated stakem sharing this growler with me -enjoyed from a low profile berliner-type glass.

The color is pale golden with moderately high haze and quick dispersing head of white. The haziness is very cloudy almost milky. The smell is very nice with slight lemon zest and kumquat with a tinge of green apple and light earthy wheat note. The feel is light and highly effervescent with a slight tanginess, but lactic is not sharp with slightly dry finish.

The taste is very full with nice fruity zesty and lactic tanginess which seems like a slight tangy green apple mixed with the sweet tart of kumquat with some wheat elements which are earthy, but not quite funky with a light tinge of sour which seems to liven the overall flavor as it becomes dry in the final tastes. Overall I thought this was a nice take on the style. This is not over the top sour wheat but nice and balanced in a traditional berliner style I really enjoyed.

A big thanks to eagles22 for hooking me up with a growler of this. Poured into a berliner bowl, this brew appears a clouded pale yellow with less than a finger of white head that rapidly and audibly dissolves. Some bubbles of carbonation race to the surface in support of the cap but that is short-lived. This brew is so clouded and thick with yeast sediment that you can swirl the glass and watch the particulate collect in the middle. I understand and appreciate unfiltered beer but this is ridiculous. There are even a couple small pieces of husks floating at the surface.

The smell of this brew is quite lactic with a combination of yogurt, lemon and a touch of sulfur. There is an earthy aspect running throughout that brings out a mild focus of pear skins which is enjoyable. Wrapping things up in the nose is a grainy wheat scent that is tangy and borders on being a bit cheese-like.

The taste is sharp with a lactic character and solid wheat inclusion. Yeast runs throughout the profile with a creamy almost yogurt flavoring with a bit of earthy quality and gym socks. The backend of the flavor is almost dusty like cob webs. I don't know a whole lot about the brewing process of this but I am thinking some form of brett inclusion is responsible for this character. Each sip is lively and goes back and forth between lactic and lemony to earthy and dusty.

This is not a bad take on the style. It is light bodied and has a short lived effervescent level of carbonation that while initially is active, it gets swirled out of solution quite easily. It fits the bill for the style with some unique character to it that I feel is reminiscent of sour mashing and brett included in this. The sheer amount of yeast and wheat protein stuck in solution hinders that crisp snap I look for in the finish of a berliner. That gripe aside, I enjoyed this and will have no issue polishing off another glass.

Small beer crawl took me to this new pub which is in early stages of opening. Only offering tastings and growler fills currently as they ramp up for full operations. Was interested to try their Berliner Weiss, which struck me as an interesting choice for an initial offering.

A - Pours a hazy hay yellow color in the tasting cup with a small white head that offers some lacing on the side of the tasting cup.

S - Funk with some cheese that is pretty interesting. Some acid or lemon aromas as well swirl into the mix as well.

T - Very interesting. Combination of wheat and sour provide a tart and sour like lemonade which makes for a refreshing summer experience. Mixed with the accompanying syrups make this even more pleasurable. I really liked the profile of the beer when the raspberry syrup is added. Still maintains some level of tartness of the lemonade, but the sweetness of the syrup makes it very enjoyable as well.

M - Sharp, tart, and spritzy with the right level of carbonation.

O - Not my usual style so very interested to see what real fans of the style think of this one. Sees like they did a nice job with this one for an initial offering.

Check this place out. I think these guys are going to ake some interesting beers. The triple was also vey good as well.

Served on-tap at the Valley Forge Beer Festival. Multiple samples served three different ways: straight-up, with woodruff, and with raspberry. Reviewing based on no additives.

A: Slightly hazy pale wheat colored body with a small pure white head. For the glass and small pour, there's a bit of lace on the glass albeit the head dissipation was rapid. Not out of the norm really for the style. Nice looking beer.

S: Faint wheat, pale malts, funk, hay and lemon. It has a very light airy nature to it with a really good acidic funk on the back end. More pale citrus fruits show up towards the back end of the aroma, but again this is just a good example of what you'd expect from a Berliner Weiss.

T: Wow, simply divine. The wheat-base of the beer is showcased on the front of the palate with some light lemon qualities. Mid-palate is an aggressive assault of tart and funky notes with lots of yeast elements and a dry champagne-like finish. Speaking of the finish, it's sharp and has a nice cut not to leave things lingering around for too long. The woodruff and raspberry syrups add a nice rounded sweetness and additional flavor to the profile, but on its own this is simply amazing.

M: Well carbonated, bubbly and a bit fizzy in a sense on the palate. Really just what I anticipate for a beer of this style. Even with all the carbonation it has a nice smooth creamy mouth feel. Again, well done.

This is one style of beer I can't seem to get enough of, and whenever a brewer decides to make one (not frequently enough it seems), I have to try it. Round Guys, this is a giant leap forward to set yourselves up for being a killer brewer of this style. Absolutely well done - I cannot wait for either some growler fills or bottles of this eventually. I kept going back to the booth for this beer until it ran dry.
