Dark orange amber beer with a mountain of creamy foam. Settles with some fair lacing and leaves a big dollop of foam floating in the middle of the snifter.

Delicately hoppy smell, floral and bitter. Moderate levels, definitely in the IPA range. Not anything crazy, it could just be a refined hop variety.

Grainy and tart with some Belgian esters, some pronounced hop bitterness especially in the back of the sip. The French Aramis hops are floral and piney with an earthy undertone. Some sweetness from the caramel malt, definitely not as clean as a West coast American IPA.

Kind of a thin, wet mouthfeel. Slightly undercarbonated, this might be genuinely unpleasant if there weren't some hop oils holding it up. As it is, just mediocre.

Fair job showcasing the Aramis hops, interesting to check out a new French variety, but this isn't an IPA that I would return to.
