One of the more established and long running places in Old City. This place was hip before the hipsters came into town. Great Imports, can get crowded quick, worth a stop.

Overwhelming bottle list, impressive taps, Belgian food specialties. Dark and mysterious atmosphere adds to the vibe. When in Philly, a must stop, right in the heart of town.

A lot like it's stablemate, Bierstube, this place is pretty noisy and draws a young (and on Saturday nights, wasted) crowd. Definitely a place devoted to beer but not really a Belgian beer standout. Head to Monk's.

About as good as it gets...for example: several days post BCBS craziness, they were still selling bottles of both the original and barley wine to bar customers for enjoyment on-site or to-go.
Their rotating tap list is what makes this place awesome - just a great mix of beers from all over the world (with an expected focus on Belgian beers). Their bottle list is also the stuff dreams are made of - Cantillon is often on the list (for a price, but hey, it's an option).
All of the staff are super knowledgeable and actually love their craft.

Eulogy was my first foray into the craft beer scene in Philly and let me say if you haven't been you really need to put it on your list.
The beer selection is enormous and well selected they have many, especially many Belgian, beers that are must tries. They also have a pretty varied and long tap list. When I was there years ago I had my first encounter with St. Bernardus and it really opened my eyes.
There food is fairly good as pub grub goes. I remember enjoying a few sandwiches that I had there.
The service has always been good. They did a great job of accommodating us when we had a large party and when I have been there in smaller groups they have always been attentive.
The price depending in the beers can be a tad expensive but they do have several good low budget drinks.

In a nutshell, Eulogy Belgian Tavern's wide variety of beers (and other alcohols) makes this must-stop for those in the Philly. True to the architecture of the state, the bar itself is...cozy. It's split over two floors, and although we brought a large (8+top) and were able to be seated quickly and in comfort.
The drink selections spanned the palate and price range, there's definitely something for everyone, and the food was hearty, and well-prepared. Our server was the low point of our experience, whom I audibly heard curse at our entering (during a non-rush hour...). I'd still go back nonethless!Try the Malheur 12 :)
