12oz bottle, pours very hazy, deep reddish-amber color topped with a ton of ivory colored foam that leaves plenty of foam along the inside of the glass. I had to wait to pour the 2nd half of the ale into the glass after the first roud of foam subsided. Sweet, bready malt aroma with earthy hop tones, a bit medicinal. Muddled flavors of bready malt, caramel, earth, pungent hop, faint soy sauce, a bit medicinal. Over-carbonated, foams in the mouth as you move it across the palate, finishes with a sharp acidity and astringency, earthy hops linger. Unfortunately this was just bad. First drain-pour in awhile...and I hate to drain-pour, but this just isn't worth finishing.

Poured in a crappy hotel glass.
A: way too dark for a "regular" non-black IPA. It's a ruddy dark brown that is really unappealing. It has a decent whitehead that isn't lacing at all, but that could be the crappy hotel glass
S: no real hop presence for a beer with "hop" in it's name. It's got done maltiness, some sweetness, but no hop presence that I expected.
T: too sweet, too bitter. The malt is too sweet and malt, the hops all seem to be early boil and not providing and aroma just bittering. The bitter is so strong that it doesn't have any piny/citrusy/tropical notes at all, just bitter. :(
M: meh. Nothing special. Not bad, not good
D: really glad I just bought a single, as I'd be pissed if I had spent money on more of these. It's drinkable, but not really enjoyable. Pretty disappointing IPA overall.

Poured from their 12oz bottle, 6pk purchased for $10.99 in Paw Paw MI
Appearance - Wow, pours a gorgeous hazy ruby amber color, the head takes nearly 20 seconds to form, about a finger of soft tan foam slowly forms, laces at the beginning but the cap eventually dissipates, ending the lacing
Smell - Big floral hops, tropical fruits, warm toffee.
Taste - Starts with a blend of prominent tropical fruit, ripe plum and heavy floral hops, mid sip there is a very interesting touch of salted dark toffee, and it works really well here. The light salt brings a juiciness to the tropical and dark fruits here. After this the floral hops gently bitter and dry out giving way to grapefruit pith, sour plumskin, pollen and dried flowers. The 9% provides a complimentary warmth vs taste.
Mouthfeel - Nearly medium, this is extremely slick and juicy, and somewhat mouth coating, an almost creamy mouthfeel. Carb is on the lower side, and really let's the juiciness and light salted toffee assert themselves.
Overall - This is a floral hop bomb for sure. The darker fruits and salted toffee make this far different from most dipa's, but the huge floral hops and bitter grapefruit remind you that it is. A very interesting brew, a winter dipa if there ever was one!
You will likely love or hate this, I love the floral hops and salted toffee, I recommend this one.

Poured into pint glass. Clear gold appearance with soapy white head that retains nicely. Nose is bitter with deep earthy pine and a weird paint like quality. Taste is subdued with some caramel malt and funky bitterness. Something tastes off about this. Mouthfeel is thick and highly carbonated. This beer is a bit of a mess, not sure what went wrong here.

Cloudy amber, with a profusion of off-white suds. No visible lace, though.
Nose is citrus, pine, and floral hops. Very enticing and appealing.
Taste is brisk and hoppy. Plenty of grapefruit bitterness. Hop Rush is tangy, chewy, and a superb American IPA. And the 9% ABV isn't really too detectable. Excellent!

On tap at Tomlinson Tap Room. Poured a very nice deep ruddy golden color with nice head and a bit of nice lacing. Hugely thick malty scent with a bit of heat in the nose and a nice wallop of piney-floral hoppiness. Thick malt flavors with deep pine/floral/earthy hops all throughout and a bit of a thick hot horseradish flavor, as well. Thick and a bit hot, it's still a decent impy IPA, but could use some polishing.
