Dark ruby and clear, other than the darkness, with a volcanic beige head. Nose is pretty complex, with dark fruit, cranberry, bread and sugar. Taste carries most of the same elements with a fairly dominant back end bitterness that faded the taste out into a wildly carbonated and overall thin body.

Another overcarbonated mess from this brewery. Despite extreme care in the pour, 4oz in my glass and the rest is full of foam. Not that I'd really want it, but head retention is also poor, and for a "Belgian" there is a lack of lacing (points docked for Look).
Aroma is fine but nothing interesting at all, slight hop aroma and some malt.
Taste is bland, some maltiness, no hop presence and nothing "Belgian" about it, also some oxidation present (points docked for Taste).
Mouthfeel is predictably way over carbonated, unpleasant and sharp (points docked for Feel).
Overall this is just not a well-made beer; the first two from this brewery I finished the bottle out of respect for the beer, but at this point I've lost that respect and drainpoured most of it.

Poured into a Duvel tulip. Unlabeled sample bottle from the brewery.
A- From a gentle pour comes a towering three inch tan head that retains and retains until finally settling to a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a large center bump of surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves small clots behind.
S- Belgian yeast aroma with some effervescence, booze and a hint of spice.
T- Toasty, smoky, yeasty. Not a lot of hop presence for an IPA. Also a bit bready. Trying to discern the "red" characteristics in this one but I'm coming up short. Quite drinkable for the ABV but loses points because it's not to style.
M- This is the main issue for me since it's way overcarbonated. Body is leaning toward the fuller side.
O- I don't know what this is, but it's not an IPA. The hops just aren't "there" enough to call it such. It's a Belgian Dark Ale, and not that great of one. Reminds me of someone's sub-par homebrew.

Poured from a bottle into a shaker pint, the beer pours with a ton of head, but given time to settle, it turns out a deep, amber-toffee coloring with a steady flow of carbonation throughout the body. The head is large bubbled, fluffy, chunky, off-white, and eventually settles into a solid two inches. Sparse lacing left along the glass, too. Aromas of biscuit, toffee, and roasted caramel, with bitter and peppery notes from the hops cleaning up nicely. Flavors are roast and spiced forward, with pepper, all-spice, clove, and nutmeg laying the groundwork for a rich toffee backbone, subtle farmhouse highlights, and hints of floral hops and bitter notes throughout. Very dynamic and well balanced palate. The body is smooth, and sharpens a bit towards the end thanks to the constant carbonation flow. Bitter and dry aftertaste, with hints of rich sweetness lingering on slightly. Crisp, clean finish, with a subtle linger of the spice blend. Solid brew; very interesting characteristics and very drinkable.

A: Pours a clear very deep reddish brown in color with light amounts of gentle carbonation along the edges of the glass and hints of garnet red highlights. The beer has a two finger tall foamy pillowy light beige head that slowly reduces to a half finger thick layer evenly covering the entire surface of the beer and a slightly thicker ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Light to moderate aromas of bready malts, dark fruits (plum and fig), some faint notes of spices, and moderate amounts of Belgian yeast.
T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of bready malts with a touch of caramel sweetness and some light to moderate flavors of dark fruit sweetness (plum and fig). There are moderate notes of spices and Belgian yeast with a light flavor of pine hops which imparts a touch of bitterness in the finish.
M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp upfront with a decent amount of smoothness.
O: A very interesting take on a Belgian IPA - almost like a hoppy Dubbel or Belgian Dark Ale. Interesting combination of flavors/aromas and quite enjoyable. Fairly easy to drink with well hidden alcohol.
