Beaver Brewnette is brewed with a combination of high quality domestic 2-row and specialty malts. True to style, Beaver Brewnette is bittered and finished with Noble variety hops. Slowly fermented with lager yeast, it is conditioned for weeks to round the flavors for a toasty malt character. Medium bodied with an off-white, clinging head, Beaver Brewnette satisfies from first taste through its incredibly smooth finish. A pleasure to enjoy, after just a little time together you'll be going steady.

Was expecting a smooth, slightly malty brown ale from the smell to the look and description, but it was oddly bitter. Also had a much larger head than anticipated, still not sure if I got a weird batch.

Good color, typical lager aromas. Not too big on the malt in this Vienna. Crisp and clean though.

From BeerAdvocate magazine Issue #70 (November 2012):

Not very clean for a lager, comes off as a bit of a mess. Lager yeast seems to have gone astray due to possibly a warmer than normal fermentation temperature? Chalk this one up as a major disconnect from “beer company” and “contract brewer”? A lager should not be released in this state.

STYLE: Vienna Lager
ABV: 5.0%
AVAILABILITY: Year-round

LOOK: Slightly cloudy, muddled amber

SMELL: Mildly acrid, fruity, grassy, floral, toasted bread, slightly spicy

A-Pours a murky brown color. Light creamy head. Body of the beer is murky. Head leaves minute lacing.

S-Light and toasty with a mellow Noble hop presence. Has a nice fruity/floral aroma too. Actually fairly attractive but a bit too light. Like the other two Beaver Beers, this has a nose with potential but it lacks enough intensity to wow me. But they aren't trying to wow me, they just want it to smell attractive and not be offensively intense to most people.

T-Sweet, nearly tangy toasted bread. Florals and fruits. Light, light grassiness. More sweet than anything else. Graham crackers and toffee/caramel.

M-Medium bodied with tickling carbonation. Smooth and quite easy to imbibe. Sessionable.

O/D-Pretty decent. I will forever measure Viennas by the forefather that is Boston Lager. This is not as good. But it does have its own potential niche and I respect that.

Pours a nice one fingers worth of a creamy off white head. Good retention and lacing. Clear deep amber body.

Smells like a big toffee and Carmel beer. Hints of lager yeast notes and sugar.

Tastes like a chewy toffee bar. Very full flavored with all the crystal malts. Carmel, bready yeast and a hint of floral hops. After taste is very sweet and sugary.

Medium bodied and medium low body. Quite sweet and sticky on the finish, on the verge or being cloying.

Overall this is a very full flavored solid beer. A bit out of balance with too much sweetness but I think that may go with the style. I buy this again if I saw it.

I'm assuming this is being made at Papercity Brewing and sold and distributed in CT only.
