Thanks Matt for the growler!
Medium shade of brown, auburn highlights in the light, wispy halo of skim with a spotty ring of lace in the glass.
Smells a little estery, fruity Belgian yeast and nutty toasted malts. Not especially wild or funky in the nose.
Tart and fruity berry notes, mild cherry pit, malty backbone. Light bodied and easy drinking. The Lactobacillus is not overwhelming, only lightly tart, but well integrated. Overall a good first wild effort by Titletown, hope to try more stuff at the Great Taste this year.
As an aside, i've sampled dozens of Flanders inspired ales and this one doesn't especially ring true in regards to authenticity. While drinkable it seemed pretty young and underdeveloped, though there's some future potential with aging and blending.

Ned Flanders is the first beer that I tried at Titletown Brewery and it did not disappoint! The smell was very good with hints of Belgian yeast and fruit and spice notes. Light bodied and easy drinking. While drinking the Ned Flanders, I found it pleasantly tart with sweet-and-sour finish whcih was great. This East-Flanders-style brown ale with Belgian brewers' yeast and Lactobacillus bacteria fermentation really allows the beer to have a flavor of its own. The appearance of the beer had a reddish brown tint to it which was pleasing as well. I give this beer an overall perfect score and will be back to try new beers from this local brewery.
