Dark and roasty, not harsh or heavy, this German-style black lager starts with aromas of coffee, chocolate, caramel, and toasted malt and finishes clean and smooth. Bronze medalist, German-style Schwarzbier, 2009 Great American Beer Festival

Dark. Campy. Drinkable. Pour had a dark brown foam head over a dark, dark brown body. Scent is scorched but sweet -- dark chocolate, roasted coffee, burnt caramel -- and just a touch of woodiness. Taste follows with a nice blend of bitterness and a touch of sweetness from the caramel like notes. Feel is on the lighter side of medium, at times verging on light/watery. Overall a very pleasant brew.

Poured from a can dated 10-19-21; black, opaque with 2 fingers of tan head that dissipated to a ring with some lacing. Smells of roasted malts, taste the same. Light mouthfeel; not a complex beer but very drinkable.

Pours a very dark brown with a one finger brown head that settles back to a brown thin layer.
The aroma is a light roasted malt.
The taste is the roasted malt, the slight coffee taste, and a sweet caramel. Tastes good! Finishes a little dry, nice!
The feel is a medium plus creamy.
The taste is very good, it has a bit of a dry finish so the sweetness doesn't over power the experience.

Had on tap at AJ Bombers before a bucks game. Had with my pray it butter bacon burger. This paired well.
Black lager that poured black dark brown with a big creamy head.
Smell is roasty and delicious. Taste follows suit. This beer is very true to a fresh Schwartzbier from my experience. A little spicy rye character in there too maybe.
Good stuff. Pleasantly surprised

Dark body, persistent tan head, tiny bubbled lacing that coats the glass. Nose is quiet, but the flavor offers nice roasted malt notes. Subtle chocolate and bread. Yum.

Pours a beautiful dark brown color. The head was a nice shade of tan, but the retention was poor.
The nose is nice and rich. I do get almost get coffee notes from it. Nice malt aroma.
The taste is malty. I do get coffee notes, even though it isn't a coffee beer.
Quite watery feeling, sadly.
I like the name of this beer, but it just didn't work out too well. I think it could have been a lot better.
