Pandemic visit and review.

Small spot with lots of character, and lots of good beers...friendly guy behind the bar, offering up good advice on some cans to go....expect beers from places like Other Half and Grimm and other boutique options.

Worthy spot to enjoy fine beers and some friendly conversation.

I liked this space more than anything. Dimly lit and small, but all in a good way. Which is to say warm, inviting, and cozy. Every square inch of this place feels like a nook. I'd love to come back here on some snowy mid-winter's night to enjoy a couple pours by the window. That'd be, perhaps, the Platonic Ideal of comfort in a public space made manifest. The candles are a nice touch. More beer bars should have candles. There should be more candles everywhere. Period. You heard it from me.

The selection is small (like the space), but well-curated. Service was good; no one was putting on airs. The crowd seemed cool. Williamsburg hipsters? You bet. But they're all chill and normal, just trying to get by, and enjoy good beer, like anyone else.

My only quibble, such as it was, was the pricing. But I understand people gotta pay the rent and their employees in this preposterously expensive metropolis. So it's all good.

Loved this place...lowkey, laid back vibe and the bartender was nice and new her stuff. Selection was fantastic; tons of Grimm, Lawson's, OH, etc. and a good mix of bottles. No food but a must hit if you're going to a show at Brooklyn Steel.

My local beer place. I've been going here regularly for over a year now, never had a complaint. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, great local vibe, and a nice selection.

Atmosphere - Small, quaint, cozy. Good selection for a small store, but offers quality over quantity. Extra points for little parties and tastings they throw every few weeks.

Quality - Beers on tap to go, filled at 32/64 oz. You're shown off with a sturdy bag, a nice handy label, and some information if you're interested. Always good.

Service - The owner and employees are knowledgable and kind. A+

Selection - Very good selection. They have everything you could ever want in interesting and obscure beer. The draft selection is good and gets rotated weekly--always something new. Tastes for what's on tap are always offered. Extra points for stocking a beer you really love if you ask for it.

Food - They do have a little, but I haven't bought any.

Value - Ranges from reasonable and inexpensive cans to hefty, 'I just spent what?? on a beer' pricing.

Look for the possibility of a bar getting made in the back... hopefully it's still going forward!

Vibe: I visited this store twice—once for the DK to BK event and once for an IPA event. The store isn't huge, but has a nice layout and prominently features their taps on one wall, has bottles on the other wall and some coolers towards the back. There is a large chalkboard over the taps that lists all of the beers that are available and their properties.

Quality: Beers were kept out of direct sunlight and some where stored cold. There isn't a huge selection so I would assume that the store has good turnover.

Service: All of the staff members that I talked to were very friendly and knowledgeable about the beers.

Selection: This place doesn't have a huge selection, but has a bunch of hard-to-find beers.

Beer Street is definitely one of the very best - if not THE best - bottle/growler shops in Brooklyn. They always carry a great selection of bottles from both domestic and European breweries, as well as amazing draft beers for growler fills. Lorcan, the owner, has got to be one of the coolest and most knowledgeable people I have ever met, he and his staff will certainly be able to help satisfy anyone looking for some delicious beer. The store itself is very cozy/comfortable too.

I highly recommend checking out Beer Street for some bottles or a growler fill if you are in the area.

I visited Beer Street when they had the DK to BK Event - featuring the brewers from Mikkeller, Evil Twin, and To Øl. It was a really great event with 10 beers available on tap from the brewers, a chance to have personal conversations with the brewers, and some pretty decent BBQ (though not something they normally sell).

I found the staff at the shop to be very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They poured excellent beers and seemed to get filling growlers correct (I didn't fill a growler personally but someone in the group I was hanging out with did).

I found the selection to be very good for the bottles - they had a lot of harder to find selections and not just the same things that every other store/shop in NYC feature. As far as the tap selection, they were some very interesting beers (and some only available at the event) but hard to say what the taps are like on other weeks when an event is not happening.

The prices seem very reasonable for the beers on tap and a little more on the expensive side for the bottles.

I absolutely love this place. I was nervous when it first went in and assumed it would be another over-priced growler shop with bottles I can get anywhere in the neighborhood. I was very, very wrong. They have the cheapest growlers around by far with a well chosen and quickly rotating selection of 10 taps (samples always given!). On top of that they actually know how to fill a growler although they dont have a counter pressure system, and their bottle selection is actually unique! They had Sculpin on tap and I think a growler was like $14 or $15? Bottles are reasonably priced with a higher price tag on a few of the more interesting imports, but nothing is unreasonable. The also have glassware for $3-5. The owner is super friendly and the shop has a nice wide open look to it.

I really hope this place sticks around, it's a welcome addition and can only get better and better.

I learned about this place only recently and was suprised to find that I really really like this place. I like the vibe of the place. The two folks who run (and probably own) the place are very sweet and helpful. They allowed me try a number of beers before I bought and were helpful throughout the whole process. They also sell glassware, which is mostly affordable (ranging between $3 and $5). They usually have about 10 beers on tap at any given time and the tap station is just one of the coolest designs I've seen. The beer selection is actually very interesting. They have some of the common beers and others that that I've never encountered before. The rare variety are on the pricey side, so I tend to buy from the taps. My most recent purchase was teh the Le Bilbioquet (I hope that's the correct spelling) Scotch Ale, which was very good.

Overall, I've become very fond of this place and now go there regularly. I hope they stick around for some time. Good Luck Folks!!
