served into my aventinus glass.

Hazy, rusty brown in color with minimal head from a semi-aggressive pour. No lacing whatsoever.

Floral sweetness, citrus, orange peel, and a bit of hops.

The taste is much like the smell, a bit sweet, definitely a lot of light fruits (in a good way), but not quite hoppy enough for my taste.

Medium bodied with a bit of a bitter stickiness at the back of the throat. Nothing bad, but nothing special.

Overall a good beer for the price (under $4 for a 22oz). Worth a try once, and if you like it then its a nice inexpensive brew to go back to.

Served in a Lagunitas mason jar.

Flashbacks to Bambi are never good... Anyway, this stuff pours a clear copper topped by over a finger of dirty cream foam. The nose comprises buttery biscuit, candied ruby red grapefruit peel, and a hint of random greenery. A menthol-y sense pervades, making the already clashy smell all the worse. The taste brings in more of the same, with more of that menthol character, which now comes across more like Vicks Vapo-Rub than anything. Cringe-inducing, to say the least. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda slick feel. Overall, this is just a sad excuse for an IPA, or any sort of beer, frankly. Boo this.

Appearance: Hazy, copper color with one finger of head that fades slowly to a ring with a uniform curtain of lace.

Aroma: Some sweet malt and a mix of citrus and pine hop aroma, but not a in a big way. Also some dishrag notes in an otherwise fairly subdued aroma.

Taste: Robust, toasted malt upfront in a medium body, then a rush of green, dry-hopped style bitterness that fades away towards the finish, where the malt make a second appearance and goes out with a slightly nutty finish.

The Rest: A decent AIPA. The aroma was a bit underwhelming, and its not the best hop profile I've had in an IPA, but by no means awful.

Poured at room temp in hotel glass

A: dark red color; thick, buoyant head creamy at top; good carb action; superb lacing
S: malty aroma dominates, a bit like a Euro strong in its presentation
T: sweet; orange, hints of chocolate; very malty, with a tang that turns somewhat metallic; the hops are in the background; the flavor is ok/good, but it's not what I look for in an IPA; it's more toward that of a brown ale
M: decent

I don't plan to buy this again

Bomber bottle, picked by a friend while on the road at Stateline Bev. on the Maryland/Delaware line.

No freshness info to be had.

Pours heavily hazed and a dull shade of orangy amber. Minor head development, but does leave a nice looking fine film of light khaki mini bubbles. Ample strands of fine lace.

The nose is of some honey, flower, and sweet malts.

The label talks of "fierce hopping, and more hopping" but the first take away here is of more honey, more citric fruit and flowery sweetness. Lemon, orange, and honey come to mind. A few more sips and some grainy hops do come out to play, but well in the rear and really showing no major bite.

Something seems somewhat out of whack here and I'm not sure what it is. All in all a decent IPA, buts its on the fruity and sweet side with hops in the rear.

The beer poured an almost clear amber gold and produced a creamy white head, about one and a half fingers high. It dissipates into little lacing.
The smell is of flowery hops, citrus fruits and honey.
Tasting ths beer, the fruity flavors like pineapple, grapefruit, lemon stick out up front. Than a variation of hops give the beer some bitterness. A malty backbone is present as well as some kind of honey flavor. For my taste, the beer is somewhat of balance, but that is just my own feeling.
Overall this is a medium bodied I P A, to sweet, something I probably would not look for again, but also not bad.
