My girlfriend and I visited Aztec on a whim, having never heard of it, while in San Diego recently. We decided to bring home a growler of Hibiscus Wheat. My girlfriend especially liked it because of its sour hints. My review isn't as favorable, but the beer is still a bit above average.
Appearance: Smooth pour out of the growler with a medium orange look. A small slightly off colored head at the top of the pint glass.
Smell: a nice aroma with a hint of sour fruit notes.
Taste: A nice mouthful of this beer and you experience sour notes right off the beginning. To me it tastes a little bit skunked, but it goes with the territory of a hibiscus beer
Mouthfeel: Pretty light feel in the mouth
Overall: I enjoy the beer its crispy and with a sour note. Nothing amazing and Aztec has better offerings, but by no means did I suffer through this beer
Serving type: growler

On tap at Aztec Brewing Company in Vista, CA.
Pours a hazy dark honey orange with an off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of wheat, spices, and hibiscus flowers. Taste is of wheat and spices up front with a fruity hibiscus finish. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a tasty hibiscus presence in the flavor.
