Formerly the north side news...I popped in for a few pints and a burger over Thanksgiving Holiday. Surprised by the good selection of taps. Wide variety of styles among the "twenty taps"
available. I had an IPA and an imperial porter, both of which were served at the proper temp and glassware. Atmosphere is pretty plain. Not much to look at except the taps. Needs some tv's and tables along the window front. Food is high priced sandwiches and burgers. I had a burger that was just OK. Service not good. Bartender was oblivious to our small group at our end of the bar. On empty glasses, all of us at some point had to say, "excuse me miss, can I get a..." I will go back, because the beer selection is really good, but I will not order food. Hopefully the bar staff has been upgraded when I return.

Stopped in with my buddy the other day and was fairly impressed for what the business is. The atmosphere is fairly neutral with two sides, bar and "cafe," and is fairly plain, but it's clean and smoke free. The beer list was very nice! I tried several, getting a taster (three smaller glasses) and a couple of pints. Many Indiana beers were on the list, as well as several others: my favorite was the Chocolate Stout from People's brewing, but Brugge's Harvey Sour was quite awesome, too. Service was good, neither of us went without a beer for more than a few moments and the bartender was also very nice in letting us have a few clean glasses to share some beer. Did not try food, so can't help you there. It's a great place to hang with friends and have some excellent beer, although I should also be honest in that there weren't more than half a dozen people on the bar side when we were there.

Small place with a bar room to the left and a dining room to the right so kids can come in to. Casual vibe that doesn't remind me of a bar at all. Now up to 38 taps, despite the name.
Selection is pretty good. Main reason for the trip was Bolt Cutter on tap. Lots of Indiana locals and other semi-locals (KY, MI, OH) represented. Prices are pretty fair with almost all pints being $4.50. Pint of the day is $3.50 and some of the seasonals and more limited beers are priced differently. 10 oz pour of Bolt Cutter was $4.75. All pints poured into plain pint glasses. Bigger beers poured in smaller portions in snifter-type glasses. Sampler of 3 is $6 for 6 oz pours in standard taster glasses.
Food selection was decent. Tries to appear more 'upscale' with fancy bar dishes. Still, mostly burgers and sandwiches. We just had fries to snack on, but they were good. Have options of about 6 different sauces (although they call them something else) and the garlic and chipotle were pretty good.
Overall, one of the better bars in Indy for craft beer. If you get a day or two in the city, go check it out.

A: Half restaurant, half beer bar. Outside seating under the awning and a few tall tops in the bar room. Rail available behind the long part of the L-shaped bar. Bar holds about 15 people.
Q: Beer is always fresh and food menu is great.
S: Great service, even when they are completely slammed.
S: 38 taps, lots of great beers. These guys always get a keg of the "only 5 kegs came in to the state man" stuff. Also a small bottle list of semi limited stuff.
F: Nice menu of sandwiches and burgers. Vegetarian options as well. Side salad is excellent; I order it every time I go there and I am not a salad eating dude.
V: Everything is very reasonably priced.

The array of taps was great. Many local brews as well as nationally known favorites.
My waiter was extremely accommodating with service while I worked for hours. Always made sure my beer was full even at a table in the dining area. Beers and food were delivered promptly.
The bonfire burger was a delicious attack on my arteries. Smoked sausage on a burger with blue cheese, yum. Some many other mouth-watering options available as well. Looking forward to a return visit.

You'll be hard-pressed to find a better selection of all sorts of craft beer in Indianapolis. They rotate their 38 taps regularly, and they have something for all tastes. I normally like higher ABV beers so it's hard for me to find a good selection of the strong stuff...but Twenty Tap ALWAYS has something that peaks my interest.
Their service is almost always very friendly and helpful, even at times when they get slammed-busy (which is often).
The small size of the place really makes you feel like a sardine stuffed into a tin at times, but it's a small price to pay to experience the absolute best craft beer bar in the city. If there's a better one I'd like to see it.
The food is reasonably priced for the quality you get, too. Try the Wake-Up Burger.

This place has been open for a little over a year and has quickly become my favorite beer bar in town. They originally started with 20 taps (hence the name) and quickly upgraded to 38 taps. While not an incredibly big establishment they do have a separate family seating area which means you can bring people under 21. The bar area has about 15 spots at the bar and a couple tables near 2 dart boards. It can get a little crowded on Friday and Saturday night but it's a pretty good group to be around, plenty of friendly people enjoying craft beer.
Twenty Tap definitely has the best selection of craft brew in the city. The 38 taps change constantly and are a good mix of Indiana, Midwest, and national craft beer with an emphasis on regional stuff. If you go on two consecutive days it's not surprising to see 5 or 6 new beers on tap. They also offer flights of 3 - 6 oz pours so it's a good way to sample some different breweries/brews that you haven't tried. The bartenders are great. Very friendly and willing to make recommendations and let you sample a few before you make your selection if you're having trouble deciding.
The food is pretty good and a little step up from standard pub food. They have some real good burger options, other sandwiches, and a good selection of vegetarian and vegan options. A lot of their meats are sourced from some local establishments(Smoking Goose, Fischer Farms, Claus' Market). The fried cheese curds are delicious but definitely should be shared with a few friends if you plan on eating your meal.
Overall this is a great establishment. It can get a decent crowd some nights so you may have to wait in the bar area for a table but that just means you can sample a little more beer. Also, they usually post a picture of the beer list on Twitter if you want to look at the selection before venturing out. If you find yourself in Broad Ripple this is definitely the place you should visit.

I go to Twenty(38) Tap about 3-4 times a month. They always have something(and usually 5-6) on tap that I really want to try at any given time. Definitely the best place for craft beer in Broad Ripple and one of the best(if not the very) in the city as a whole. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Indy at any point in your travels....

This is a great spot for food and craft beer in Indianapolis, probably the best place overall. Tap list changes everyday. 38 lines with a focus on local/regional brews. The food is fantastic. Best cheese curds I've ever had. They took the Burn burger (burger, pulled pork, jalapenos) off the menu but you can still order it. Best Spicy Cuban sandwich around and they have some great vegetarian options as well. Bar staff are friendly and responsive. Service in the dining room can be a touch slow, but who cares when you are enjoying great beers. A must stop if you are in Indy.

What a gem!
The place's name is unassuming. I've been to plenty of places with a couple dozen taps, and most of those taps are usually BMC or Diego-type bullshit. Likewise, their food is probably regular ol' pubfare. And when that place is in a cute, trendy little neighborhood meant to appeal to monied twentysomethings, well, you can forgive me for passing this place by several times before finally stopping in.
The beer selection is stellar. Indianapolis has a really great, really affordable beer scene going on right now, and excellent offerings are provided by each of the local establishments (trending mostly towards seasonals and one-offs, since you can get the regular selections at dozens of others places around town).
I went on a Tuesday night and had to wait a half hour for a table, so I assume they'd be really busy on weekends. Still, we were allowed to meander around the bar while we waited so that fine.
The food was pubby but excellent, with a surprising number of vegetarian and vegan options. I had a tempeh ruben that was probably the best meat-subsitute sandwich I've had in the state of Indiana. The waitstaff was friendly and the bar staff was beer-knowledgable, and the beer list is updated every single day.
Probably the best beer bar in the city.
