This is at the new location in Mira Mesa.
The brewery is located in an indescript light industrial area with ample parking in the back. You walk into the brewery complex with their entire operation visible as you walk down a hallway into the tasting room. The tasting room is just a bar on the side of the brewery without interior seating but plenty of standing room both at the bar and the railing on the periphery. It's a neat setting as the brewing operation is completely visible from the tasting room. There's also a nice outdoor seating area on the side of the building with a number of tables. They had their full range of beers, including a number of Belgians which I hadn't seen in bottles before. Overall, it's fairly spartan place with no food, but the interior is neat.

this review will be applicable for the next couple months (May 2011). Green Flash is moving their brewery and tasting room down to Mira Mesa from Vista in July 2011.
I recommend for anyone who likes Green Flash, IPA / Belgian IPAs, or beer in general should visit the Green Flash Brewery.
The current brewery is relatively small and the tasting area is in the production area with a small number of tall tables, and set of taps on the wall, and picnic table for serving beer.
Both times I have been, the staff has been very knowledgeable, able to talk about their brewing processes, seasonal beer availability, and the culture and unique elements of Green Flash.
They offer $3 pints, $1.50 7 oz tasters, and a $3 flight of 2oz tasters. Each is a spectacular value. If you want to cozy up on a fancy couch or comfy bar stool, you may not find what you're looking for. But, if you love to drink excellent beer and enjoy the sight of brewing equipment, bottling lines, and ingredient inventory, then this is perfect for you!
As of May 2011, the current tasting flight includes their one lager, the West Coast IPA, the Tripple, Le Freak, and Imperial IPA. I believe one of their porters is also included. All are excellent. The lager was surprisingly good, extremely fresh and bready. The IPAs were spectacular, especially the West Coast IPA - truly floral hops.
Looking forward to reviewing the Mira Mesa facility when it opens this Summer.

Stopped by a couple of weeks ago, really enjoyed myself. Its not the nicest looking place but its not supposed to be, your in the actual brewery. All the customers were really cool I had a couple conversations with some of them and they all turned out to be really nice. The staff was helpful and laid back also. And the best part was tasters were only $1.50(which were a little bigger than normal ones) and pints were only $3 for any beer they had, you cant beat that. They didn't have all there year round beers but I didn't really care cause I can get them whenever I want but they did have a few draft only beers like fizzy yellow and a good brown ale, fizzy yellow was probably the best pilsener I have ever had and they also had west coast ipa on cast. Super cheap, awesome beer and nice people more could you ask for.

Another brewery in an industrial park seems to be the trend in So Cal. Maybe I find that weird because I'm used to the breweries I frequent in downtowns or shopping areas. Could be because they are also serving food but anyways if you knew where you were going it was easy to find. This place is just like The Bruery. You walk in and there are the silos straight ahead and the bar to the right with a fridge behind the fold out table they are using. Beer line up is the normal line up with no barleywine. I was bummed to see no Silva Stout. I got the flight which goes down the list. Service was quick and friendly. Flight was cheap too. Under $6 and the pint glass for sale were cheap too, only $3. Nice little place to go and hang out at.

Visited a half a dozen times between 2007 and now.
The tasting is all done inside the brewery. There is no real tasting room nor are there any chairs to sit on. They just have some taps running through the wall of a keg fridge and a plastic fold up table that they set up every Saturday. Not sure what the policy is on wandering the brewery but they've never said anything to me about exploring. I'd score this higher but the last time I was there they had thousands of pounds of spent grain sitting outside waiting to be hauled off. It STUNK inside and in the general vicinity of the brewery.
The beer is usually pretty good and probably warrants a better score but the last time I was there (with gobzilla) the beers all had a strange metallic flavor. Most were total drain pours.
The people that work are always very nice and try their best to accomodate you. I remember in the early(er) days of the brewery there would be one, maybe two people working the tasting and that person would usually have been drinking a bit with the customers. In general they are pretty laid back.
The selection definitely falls into categories. Hoppy, Belgian, and other. But at least there are choices. If you are a hophead then SD is the place to be. Here you can have any number of moderate to intense doses of hops (ESB, 30th St Pale, West Coast IPA, Hop Head Red, Imperial IPA, etc). They have a Belgian brown, stout, IPA, and tripel. The selection is rounded out by a porter, stout, double stout, and barleywine.
Go if you want to support these guys or if you havent been but once or twice is enough for the tickers. Most of their beers are either bottled or available by the keg.
Prices are great, the hours are not.

Once again this brewery had your typical san diego business park location with a pretty small tasting due to the equipment taking up most of the space. Cool laid back drinking atmoshpere with plenty of beer enthusiast chillin drinking. The selection was basically the year round offerings but with a few other tap only brews which was nice to see. The quality this time around was not to great cause most of their beers seemed to have this metallic flavor to them due to dirty tap lines or something else. They seriously tasted like they were dry hopped with nickels or dimes. The brewery staff was cool and was nice to finally check this brewpub in person, hopefully their beers will be taste better next time around.

I've been here many times and it's always been a good experience. This is another brewery located in the back of an industrial park, but it works well enough.
They generally have all of their year round beers on tap as well as some seasonals and limited release or draft only beers (Palate Wrecker, anyone?).
It can get pretty busy in the brewery/bar, but the service has always been stellar and you're never left standing without a beer to drink for very long.
The head brewer, Chuck, is around quite often and has always been more than willing to answer any of my questions about particular beers.
Of course, you can also take home growlers and/or bottles of their beers, too.
One of the cool places in San Diego (but aren't there a lot of those?) and definitely worth a stop.
