Had On-tap @ Capitol Beer and Taproom in Sacramento, CA
Appearance - Served in a pint, the brew has a reddish copper tint with a half finger of head. Fair retention leads to a broken layer of suds across the surface. Lacing is mall and spotty, and leaves little stick.
Smell - Belgian yeast is apparent, as the sourness is prominent; also green banana and clove notes. Brown sugar. Caramel.
Taste - Follows the nose; strong belgian yeast character with some funky tartness, green banana and clove spice. Moderate sugary sweetness, teetering on caramel character. No real hop presence, outside a very faint, distant citrus note in the finish, but the finish is all about the emergence of caramel.
Mouthfeel - Medium body with a sticky feel. Low to medium carbonation. Goes down easy enough.
Overall - A good, near spectacular belgian brown. Reminiscent of a dunkelweizen in flavor, but with more tartness. Portions of the proceeds from this brew go toward breast cancer research, so it's a win-win all around.

Wow
Way to knock this outta the park. I thought an IPA couldn't make a guy blush but this is a winner. If only it poured a subtle pinkish hue....

Arrives a dark honey/amber color with a decent light tan head. Retention isn't a strong point, dissipating to nothing in about a minute.
Smell, once warmed a bit, is quite good. Well balanced mix of lightly roasted malt, hops, some light fruits, grass.
Taste is spot on to the nasal promise. Lightly roasted malts, grass, hops, light fruits (grape, apple). Well balanced, like an English style Pale Ale.
Body seems heavier at first but is really medium-light. Effervescence is nicely restrained. Grass lingers.
