Pours fairly dark for an IPA but the smell of that traditional piny west coast IPA hits you quick. The first few sips were top notch with that piny IPA very strong on the tongue. You quickly realize why it's called Palate Wrecker since it definitely burns out some taste buds the more you drink. For me, this Imperial IPA class is stacked with world class beers and this might have fell short of the upper tier by just a bit. Definitely a must try and one I'd go back to but the heaviness of the hops on the tongue made it fall just a tad short.

Shared 12 fl. oz. bottle, kindly provided by abemorsten. ABV is 9.5%. Hazy orange colour, large white head. Strong aroma of orange marmalade and fruity and resinous American hops. The flavour is indeed a "palate wrecker" - that is why this beer was chosen as the last beer of the evening at our tasting. Extremely hoppy flavour, but still, in its own weird way, fairly "well balanced" - mainly because the malty sweetness seems just right. to stand up to the hoppiness. Grapefruit, resin / pine and spruce. Yes, it is a "typically American double IPA", and I’ve "seen it before"- but still: Oh so GOOD! Halleluja!

From old, undated notes. Poured from the bottle.

Bright orange color.

Small white head; no lacing.

Smells strongly of high grade marijuana.

Medium mouthfeel, bordering on thick.

Taste is of grapefruit and great ganja. Booze is present but not overpowering.

A delicious beer.

Good solid imperial IPA. Not up there with the best, but nice and solid. In tap at Industry Public House on Leah's b-day weekend in Pittsburgh! Good ending for lunch!

Add: 7/29/20. Trip home from Lancaster after Joy and Andy's wedding. Yes.... It's a palate wrecker!
