Served from a fresh bottle into a Founders Tulip.

A - Beautiful in the glass. Deep to medium amber with a frothy, fluffy bone white head that lasts for a while. Legs for days. Only the slightest bit of haze.

S - I smell this one from 2 feet away. As soon as I popped the cap, a huge citrus grapefruit aroma leaped out. Massive pine notes with a touch of tropical note.

T - Outstanding beer for hopheads. Unless you love hops, steer clear. If you're like me, this one is a clear winner. Massive grapefruit notes with hints of citrusy tropical fruit. Grapefruit is the big flavor here. Dank, delicious hops. There's malt in this?

M - Carbonated very well. I remember seeing yeast at the bottom of West Coast IPA. Is Green Flash still bottle-conditioning? Minimal sediment in this one, but carbonated great. Slightly thick, which works for this beer.

O - Massive, massive hop-bomb of a DIPA. If you want to know what chewing on hop-cones feels like, pick this one up. Highly recommended.

Why I love this beer:

I love how the beer slowly changes character as you drink it and it starts warming slightly. How it goes from a crisp, almost unbalanced hoppiness only to evolve into a delicious biscuity presence toward the end. And how I can continue to recycle the sticky hops flavor from tongue to nose long after the liquid has been swallowed. I have fallen in love with this beer. Most definitely on my top 5 list.

Thank you, Green Flash!

look: 4.25 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Appearance: It has a nice deep hazy/orange color to it. It has a nice off-white head that dies down moderately and leaves very nice lacing.

Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of resiny pine, citrus, grapefruit and sweet caramelly malts.

Taste: Like the aromas, it has a some resiny pine, grapefruit, faint citrus, caramel and bready malts.

Mouthfeel: It has a medium carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel.

Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with good flavors and aromas.
