On tap into a mason jar @ Chuck's, Seattle. Pours a slightly hazy orange w/ a thin head attributable to the pour.
Aroma is tropical and juicy, clean and hoppy.
Taste is likewise juicy and tropical with lots of orange and some grapefruit. Sharply bitter finish. ABV hidden well.
Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and clean, drinkable.
Overall a very solid DIPA from Green Flash. I much prefer this to their regular IPA and Palate Wrecker.

The beer has comes in an amber/orange color.
The aroma is peachy, grapefruit, and citrus aroma and very dank.
The flavor is hugely peach, grapefruit with a slight pine dryness. It’s very juicy with its hop character. There is a bready sweet malt to finish it out.
The body is medium/light to make it really drinkable.
The beer is very smooth, easy drinking, yet quite complex. I’m really surprised by how well this beer held up because it was bottled November 2012 when I had this. I’ve had two of the same batch, and despite it being over 6 months, the hops still hold. I didn’t really get any “old” hop flavors.
This one really blew me away and is going up there with my favorite Double IPAs. This is underrated in my mind and I really recommend it.

Poor - Poor excellent. Nice medium head with simi-aggressive poor which settles down to a thin top liner. Not much lace. Nice clear amber color.
Nose - Very balanced albeit light nose. There is a little floral along with the sweet malt. For my personal taste, I look for a strong nose, which this doesn't have. But... the taste on this ale makes up for it in spades. I'm willing to forgo the nose just because of the awesome taste.
Taste - WOW. Wow, wow. Anyone looking for just an awesome tasting beer need look no further. Very balanced. the Ethanol is hidden. This isn't a hop bomb, but the hops shine as well as the malt.
I really really love West Coast IPA's but I started branching out from domestic American Adjunct Lagers in the early 90's mostly by English Pale Ales. I've also done some home brewing. So while I wouldn't classify Green Flashes' Imperial IPA as a West Coast IPA, it is an awesome IPA. Yeah I would definitely classify it as an East Coaster, but it's yummy.
This will be a permanent in my beer fridge.
