Poured into a New Belgium globe glass
Green Flash's West Coast IPA is a strongly citrus fruit and bitter-hop beer. By focusing on the bitterness, fruit, and slight malt sweetness, the brew team has a winning recipe that touches on each component that can be enjoyable in an IPA. I can't remember the last time I've drank an IPA so quickly, a definite winner in my book.
Pours a 1.5cm of very dense (tiny bubbles), off-white foam. Takes several minutes to fade to a ring around the perimeter of the glass and a few islands of bubbles. Leaves some very decent lacing, and sheets of lacing are generated with each swirl and subsequent sip. Body is a very dark copper brown when out of the light, an orange-copper when held to the light. Body is hazy, obviously unfiltered,
Aroma opens with some pine-related scents, quickly overwhelmed by citrus and citrus-like ones. Strongly hop-related fruit aroma, with full tangerine, grapefruit, and lemon notes acting as majors, mango as a minor player. Delicious, really makes you anticipate tasting the beer.
Opens on tip of tongue with bright slightly sweet malt and citrus flavors, notably some fresh wort with mango, orange, and tangerine. This quickly erupts into a wave of strong citrus, mostly grapefruit, tangerine, and lemon. Waves of grapefruit et al. continue with increasing bitterness and some noticeable caramel maltiness. Closes out with a long, lingering bitterness alongside mild caramel malt sweetness, a combination that's very pleasing to me.
Medium to medium-light bodied with a slight bit of wateriness around the edges. Carbonation is moderate, creating a gently flowing beer across the palate.

Enjoyed this 12oz bottle out of a Beligan Tulip glass.
A: Pours a copper hue with a white, 2-finger, frothy head that quickly slowly dissipates leaving a good trail and solid lace.
S: Hoppy, hoppy, hoppy aroma. Did I mention it smelled hoppy?
T: Extremely bitter and tart flavor with a good pine and citrus background. Finishes long, dry, and bitter.
M: Medium body and medium carbonation.
O: Wow – probably the most bitter hoppy beer I’ve ever had. Phenomenal.
