Pours a hazy golden-copper color with a slightly off-white head that leaves decent lacing.

Smells of soft pale malts with huge amounts of vanilla and bourbon. Also present are softer amounts of oak and very slight amounts of citrus hops.

Tastes similar to how it smells. Crisp pale malts up front are joined quickly by boozy vanilla and spicy bourbon flavors. Midway through, moderate amounts of citrus hops even things out a bit and hints of breadiness work their way into things, fading out into a moderately bitter ending. Mouthfeel is good, with solid carbonation.

Overall this was the booziest of the barrel-aged treatments available (Woodford Reserve and JD being the other two) but even as such it didn’t completely take away from the base beer. Worth a shot if you see it around.
