On-tap at the brewery during International IPA Day.

Pours a hazy golden-copper color with a slightly off-white head that leaves decent lacing.

Smells of muted pale malts with hints of vanilla and lighter hints of citrus hops.

Tastes more robust than it smells. Crisp pale malts up front are joined quickly by boozy vanilla and oak flavors. Midway through hints of citrus hops come into play, fading out into a moderately bitter ending. Mouthfeel is good, with solid carbonation.

Overall this was my least favorite of the barrel-aged treatments of the IPA (Woodford Reserve and Jim Beam being the other two) as the nose wasn’t robust and the flavor seemed not as well integrated.
