served at the brewpub in a nonic pint glass.

appears as expected as jet black, opaque, with nice tan head. nice inviting aroma of roasted grains - bitter cocoa, black coffee. strong, but not aggressive. taste strikes a very good balance between sweetness and dryness. a tad acidic, but still easy to drink. medium to full bodied, appropriate for the style.

overall - a very nice stout. definitely stronger that a normal stout, but not quite to the level of an Russian Imperial Stout. good harmony of bold flavors and drink-ability. Look for this one!
