Served from the hand pump at the brewpub, in a wine glass.

the beer appears very dark brown, opaque. thick creamy off-white head. smells great, nice complex rich malty flavors of dark fruits like plum and raisin. no hop aroma or flavor detected at all. taste is very similar to the aroma. very complex, and no detection of the alcohol strength. Body is fairly thick for a barleywine, and the cask conditioning really works as the smooth, low carbonation fits very well.

overall - a fantastic barleywine, perfect as a desert drink and well suited for the winter season. My favorite beer so far from Forest and Main.
