vibe: 4 | quality: 2.5 | service: 3 | selection: 3.5 | food: 3.5 | $$
Gordon Biersch just recently opened up in the Buffalo area and I have been to a couple of other locations of theirs previously.
A: The place is very nice on the inside with a large bar area, huge dining space and boasts an outdoor patio just off the main bar which will open out when the weather is nice.
Q: The quality of the beers were sub par. I rated 3 of the beers and took pulls from some of their other beers and they mostly seemed to be missing something and all had watery finishes.
S: The service was average, when we arrived, the bar area was half full and filled up completely over the two hours we were there. The bartenders were hit or miss on beer savy. For a 'brewery', they should be able to describe their beers.
S: The selection was decent as they featured a Marzen, Hefeweizen, Black Lager, Czech Pilsner, Dortmunder, and seasonal Winter Bock. They also featured 8 guest taps which were somewhat decent.
F: The food was decent quality but a little pricey for the quantity/quality. We ordered several appetizers that were decent.
The prices were reasonable as pints were $3 and they had decent happy hour prices.
Overall, your typical chain 'brewery' with most attention on pretending to brew beer and appeal to the masses with weak offerings.
