I found this place a few months back through a Groupon. Usually, liquor stores in San Diego don't do groupons, but this place had one, so I decided to check it out.

When I walked into the place, the first person I saw was Ryan, the owner of Texas Liquor in Carlsbad (one of my favorite places in San Diego). I talked to him for a bit and he let me know that he had just opened The Boulevard and was looking to bring some great beer to the area.

Overall, the selection was identical to Texas Liquor (good thing) but a bit smaller (not good). Since they just opened, I would only expect them to start getting better and better stuff. They have a pretty solid selection of local beers as well as a pretty solid selection of Belgian and other international beers. If you're in the area, I would definitely seek this place out.

Saw this on the beer store directory in the "West Coaster" beer newspaper. Glad I checked the place out, as it is certainly one of the better stores in San Diego.

Very clean, fairly spacious, with several aisles. Lots of liquor behind the service counter, wine on one wall, but mostly it's about beer. Several cooler doors, all nicely arranged, plus many feet of shelves not exactly warm, but the place is not overheated.

I was impressed by the dozens of 12 oz or thereabouts small bottles, mostly imported and most I have never seen in San Diego, or anywhere. The Belgian selections, both 12 oz and large bottles rivaled anything in the area. Also a huge selection of domestic 22 oz and 750 ml bottles. Even more on the warm shelves. Many six packs as well. I can't begin to describe all the breweries represented, but I'd say they have more oddities than any other store I've been to in San Diego.

Service was very friendly and respectful, though I didn't ask any real questions about the products. It was a Friday night, so probably not the best time for inquiries. Prices seemed average.
