A great everyday beer that’s smooth and not too hoppy or bitter. Easy drinking and fresh tasting, fairly low in alcohol but full of delicious malty flavor.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a deep amber color with tiny head of tan colored foam. The head fades rather fast leaving a little bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is very strong of a slightly toasty and roasty with some notes of caramel and molasses as well as some smells of a nuttiness.
Taste – The tastes begins with a nice light malty roasty and bready taste mixed with a bit of a caramel flavor. As the taste advances the roastiness gets a bit lighter while the caramel gets stronger and is joined by a touch of harvest fruit of apple and pear. At the end there is a bit of a nuttiness that joins the flavor profile and with a bit of an herbal taste, one is left with a nice clean and crisp amber taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is light with a carbonation level that is moderate. For the crisp taste and easy drinking nature of the brew the feel is great and makes this an easy and flavorful sipper
Overall – A rather crisp and tasty amber with a super easy drinking feel. Not over the top in sweetness. Very well done.

On-tap at BJ'S in Orange, on to the beer:
This amber orangish colored beer features a fuzzy head which drops to a lace, and a few sprinkles of lace. Smelling slightly nutty with esters, somewhat dull in overall intensity, the taste of Oasis is a sweet and malty forward beer that leans towards the Fauxtoberfest style of amber beer. A slight citrus note pops from the sweet, bready, and caramel notes. It's light bodied, easy to quaff, and thus makes a good lunchtime beer.

At first glance this appears to be comparable to BJ's other red ale this falls short of the mark on flavor. It has a great appearance and smell but just doesn't have that nice Amber flavor for my taste. This reminds me of a very watered down Red Hook Amber Ale.

Just before Christmas with brother. First pick of the night at BJ's Brewhouse. Good choice for me. I'm beginning to think American Reds and Irish Reds are my staple beer.
