On tap at BJ's in Valencia, CA.
Pours a clear gold color with a tan head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Thin streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt/grain and some slightly fruity aromas. Taste is the same way with a mild grassy note on the finish. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty average blonde with nothing special going on.

One of the few BJ's year-round beers that I have yet to try. On-tap at the Huntington Beach locale, on to the beer:
A little bit hazy inside that highlighter yellow color with a deeper blonde hue. There's an inch of head on top, giving off some creamy strings of lace. Its nose has something different about it; grape nuts cereal. And a hint of pineapple.
It seems a little different from the usual kolsch. Well, it's got the refreshment factor, the cleanliness, the very soft crispness that one could expect. The taste is a little different, yet it is still agreeable. Tasting grape nuts is more appealing than smelling them, and it's got that character all around.
Surprisingly more than decent. A beer withat least a little character while delievering refreshment.

Served in a 5 oz glass.
Appearance - light gold, no head.
Smell - Too light for me to properly say what it is...
Taste - ...basically, all the flavor that was ripped out of the lightswitch lager they made came back for this. The front is the same: a lightly roasted taste. However, it actually have some staying power. Its not bitter or strong though, so its kinda forgettable and just feels like a "safe" drink. Pushes no envelopes, fairly drinkable.
Mouthfeel - clean.
Overall - Its an okay beer. Its nothing groundbreaking, its not even great as a Kolsch (if the dry and hoppy characteristics are supposed to be there, I'm not getting them). But its entirely drinkable and a safe pitcher beer to drink if you're not sure what everyone wants or likes.

Looks straw yellow and clarity like BMC. Aroma was even worse, didn't find it appealing at all. Just oxidized corn.
Taste, wow, this is not BJ's strong suit. Made as mild as possible, carbonation wasn't high enough, was just weak. No snappy carbonation or hopping to it. Didn't get better with the food either. Just bland with a bad aftertaste.
My least favorite BJ's beer.

This beer has an absolute amazing after taste! The appearence was ok, looks just like everyother beer i have seen before. Smell was neutral. Althought this is the best beer this resturat offers. I had this beer at the resturant in columbus, ohio. I wish they would sell this at grocery stores!

I had this at the Greenwood, IN location.
On tap, the beer was served in a pint glass
The beer is a clear straw/pale yellow color with a short white head that recedes fairly quickly leaving very little lacing.
The aroma is grainy and bready with some light hop aroma. Very light in aroma. Unfortunately not much there
The taste is much like the nose, grainy and bready malts, and floral, earthy hops. I also get some light fruity flavors give this beer a very pleasant flavor. Light bodied and well carbonated. Easy to drink, very pleasant beer, just a little light for the style.

Pours a straw colored yellow with a one finger head that gives way to some nice lacing up and down the glass. The aroma is of pale malt and some hoppiness and grains. The taste is much of the same a nice pale malt backbone with some hoppy bitterness at the back end. The mouthfeel is crisp clean and moderately carbonated. The drinkability is very high, it is a very easy drink, there isn't a lot going on in it but there is nothing to make you dislike it.

6 oz tap pour in a mini pilsner glass. 4.5% ABV, On tap at BJ's in Huntington Beach.
A - The tap pour arrives pale yellow with a thin white head that leaves good lace down the whole glass.
S - Easy-going is a good way to describe the nose of this beer. It's full of plain pale malts with a background graininess and low hop scent.
T - Again, it's easy-going. The flavor mimics the aroma with pale malts and a low grain and wheat splashed in with a miniscule hint of hops on the back end.
M - The mouthfeel is crisp, clean, and light-bodied like it should be for this style.
D - One of the only beers in the BJ's sampler that I actually put down right away. It's probably the easiest drinking.

Clear smooth pour with little head.
NO smell
No taste
Carbinated heavy
I had 2 of these on two different times both in Stockton Ca at BJ's. (Nice place with huge menu). Move past this onto other beers they have (which are great) If you want light they have it in other beers.
Your better off just ordering a Budlight unless you think your going to insult someone....

Enjoyed at the Columbus, Ohio BJ's Restaurant and Bar.
The Brewhouse Blonde makes for a very nice Blonde, but not the best Kolsch. The pilsner malts give a brilliantly clear straw color, a clean and crisp bready flavor and texture, and a soft drinkable and recognizable beer. Hops give a light herbal and flowery aroma and help to offset the bitterness quite well. Yeasty esters deliver a soft complexity of apples, peaches and pears but never overstate their presence. A honeysuckle character rides through the beer from aroma to finish, and never distracts from the simple pilsner base. No sulfters or phenols to be found; this is a super clean beer. Head formation is solid upfront but ultimately falls to a trace. This is a very nice Blonde Ale that offends no one.

A: Clear, bright gold color. Poured a 1 finger thin whte head that dissipated to a broken skim. No lacing. Decanted continually.
S: Hay and wet grass. Light, dry malts. A light citrussy bitter tickles the nose.
T: Wet, slightly sweet grains. Very light biterring finish wasn't enought to balance. Carbonation finished crisp and clean.
M: Light body. Ample carbonation. Crisp, carbonated finish.
D: Very drinkable, just not a lot going on and needed more bittering.

This is one of the few Kolsh that I have been able to drink and enjoy. I have tried a few and I really didn't like them. To me this beer seem to have some balance and in a way kinda unbalanced.
The pour is a golden blonde color. The nose is wheat, citrus, and yeast. The taste is a bit hoppy and citrus but mellowed out and a bit bitter on the end. Overall a very good kolsch.

Light pale yellow, dull look. Smell is light, grassy malt and as expected for a kolsch. Taste is fairly sweet, with big corn flavor. Crisp carbonation, and very easy drinkable. Simple non-offensive and I liked it much more than the ratings led me to think I would.
