From tap to taster glass at Due South tasting room on 6/2/12
A: Hazy and slightly cloudy 24k golden in hue. A minor .75 finger white head and a small collar rims the glass.
S: Fresh herbs, a bit of sage and a pretty agressive hop presence. Really lovely stuff.
T: Herbaceous up front. There's not a really big yeast kick. Instead I find a luscious, juicy hop bite that I'm nothing if not in love with. It features a lemony backbone, and it rides from mid to finish.
M: Feel is pretty clean and crisp. Solid bubbles, medium to light body. Top notch.
O: This is a shockingly delicious saison, or should I say a saison/IPA hybrid (or at least that's how I see it). I've never come across a Farmhouse Ale like this, and I'm head over heels for this delicious and badass Southern Florida treat. Supremely well done, Due South.
