Tasted On: 10-14-2012
Freshness: Not indicated
Packaging: 12 oz. brown bottle, pry-cap
Glassware: Weizen glass
Purchased: Received in a trade
A: Pours with a huge white head and a clear, golden color. My second pour adds some yeast haziness. Lots of bubbles seen streaming in the glass. Both lacing and head retention are excellent.
S: Aromas are clean and include sweet wheat malts plus hay.
T: Bready and sweet, with a low amount of bitterness.
M: Crisp and highly carbonated on a light body. The finish features a light bitterness and is balanced well.
O: Overall a pleasant and refreshing wheat ale. It's not summertime anymore, but I can see this being great to kick back with on a warm afternoon. I liked this -- my first ND brew!
Thanks to fLax for this one!

Thanks Jason for the elusive North Dakota tick!
Pours a light color (almost wit light) with a big head and good retention. Smells wheaty but somewhat acrid too. Tastes amazingly bland with a lingering sweetness but no spices/esters/phenols I associate with wheat based beers. Medium feel, medium carbonation. Thoroughly mediocre.

pours out a hazy and cloudy pur gold colour with a huge frothy eggshell white head. ample chunky lace as i drink. pale malt and wheat malt aroma with a good deal of spiciness. lemony zest abounds. smells very inviting. flavour profile runs heavy on the malt aspects with more subtle peppery spiciness and lemon citric zest. it's satisfying and quite refreshing in nature. this has a well rounded, soft and supple body with a creamy mouthfeel reminiscent of a good hefeweizen. this is above and beyond the usual dumbed down american wheat ales that most of us are used to. drinkability is outstanding...i wish i had given this a go this summer when it was scorchingly hot out.
overall i am impressed with this offering from FBC. my first beer from them and colour me impressed. i will certainly revisit this next summer. highly recommended!
