Poured from 22 oz. bottle into a Surly Darkness Chalice.

Appearance: Pours a bright and clear copper amber orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. About one finger of off white head which quickly fades into a thin patchy layer. Leaves a good amount of lacing.

Smell: A pretty odd aroma for a wet hopped beer. The hops are pretty subdued and the is a big yeasty aroma. Some citrus orange and grapefruit lingers around. Bready malts with hints of biscuit, caramel, and toffee. Again, lots of yeast. What happened to the hops?

Taste: Just like the aroma, very subdued like a aged imperial IPA. Light faded hop taste with some notes of citrus grapefruit and orange. Light pine resin. Bready malts with notes of biscuit, caramel, toffee, cracker, and lots of yeast. Laid back but pretty drinkable and not too boozy.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Thinner than expected although the alcohol is hidden well.

Overall: Is this what they intended? Its like these are fresh hops from last year. At least this is easily drinkable.
