Pours a golden cot with white head. Lacing rings the glass with each sip.
The nose is tight. Very faint wheat malt.
Starts with a whisper of wheat and malt with just the faintest hops to balance it out. This is american lager meats wheat beer.
Mouthfeel is appropriately medium. The finish is clean with a bit of grahm cracker flavor lingering
Overall, a good lawn mower beer here. Not sure it's categorically an American pale wheat but cream ale perhaps. This has mass appeal for casual beer drinkers, I'm sure and it sure quenched my thirst after a long day of work.

This beer pours a clear golden color. The head is half an inch in height, and recedes quickly into minimal lacing. The aroma has a faint tangy wheaty quality, but it is quite hard to detect. Thr taste is similar to the aroma. Mostly open space. The mouthfeel is thin with moderate carbonation, and a watery texture. Overall, this is a bad example of the wheat beer style, and a bland beer in general. I will not drink this again.

A- straight up golden american lager color. crystal clear. light active carbonation. 1 finger of white head that fades rather quickly.
S- light european pilsner. That same kind of stella skunk. Herbal, floral, really nice. Potent too. I could smell it as soon as I opened the bottle. The aroma filled the room.
T- Mildly hoppy, in a floral way. The yeast comes through at the end. Great flavor profile for quaffing.
M- it's pretty soft. absolutely dry. the carbonation dances but doesn't sting the tongue. Very easy going.
O- Session anyone? This is a full flavored, easy drinking pale wheat that invites you in for more and more. I'd buy a 12 pack anytime. As far as the style goes, it's a version. It's filtered, it's hoppy, it's medium bodied, so not quite what I was expecting, but nevertheless, awesome beer.

Appearance: Ever so slightly hazy pale yellow with some visible effervescence slowly ascending towards a thin off-white head.
Aroma: Sweet wheat and an odd, but not entirely unpleasant, smell I can't quite place.
Taste: Crisp and pleasant flavor with definite notes of the wheat. A little sweet overall with a slight grassy hop profile. A meager 12 IBUs so barely any bitterness. The odd smell comes through in the aftertaste (corn startch?) and like in the aroma it is not really a bad thing, just different. Pretty robust for 4.2% ABV. Very nice balance.
Mouthfeel: Between thin and medium in body which is pretty thick for what I was expecting but a good thing. I gave it a very aggressive pour to calm down some of the carbonation and it resulted in a very smooth drinking experience and high drinkability.
Final Thoughts: A decent low alcohol offering from a local brewery. Would work well as in introductory craft beer. Would I drink it again? Probably not, but it would be good on a hot summer day.

12oz on-tap at the narrows
look is a fizzy light yellow, smell is grain and apple jolly rancher in the background. taste starts with a musty grain, with a hop finish that again reminded me of green apple. its slightly crispy, light but not watery. good stuff, but won't blow you away.

This is a special beer, hitting the niche of being under 5%, having a bucket-load of flavor and not being an import. We Americans rarely design these beers - so I just have to come in here and let y'all know it exists.
By accident or design this beer has a somewhat unique tart flavor, balanced to a mild bitterness and NOT over-carbonate (Lucid doesn't want to prick your tongue). It's not a juicy sour, or a musky sour, its more of a general tartness. This tartness also blends nicely with the smell.
This seems to me a rewarding ale. One that once you adjust you palate you have found uncommon goodness in beer. Most beers aren't this creative without becoming undrinkable, this weaves a path near the crevasse of uncertainty, making you think that you shouldn't like it but there's something intriguing to keep you taking other sips.
A winner of a beer from Lucid Brewing.

While waiting on a take-out order at Punch Pizza in Minneapolis, I noticed their "half-beer-while-you-wait" sign. Decided that was a good chance to try this local beer. Tasted 21 November 2012, reviewed from notes.
Pours very pale yellow, totally clear. About 1 finger of white head. Nice lacing, good color, and a thick stream of bubbles rising up. Solid.
Smell is super faint and kind of grainy. About what I was expecting. A little bit of crisp hops, but that's pretty faint. Mostly it's grainy light malts.
Taste is similar, but strangely airy. Thin flavor. Like drinking light beer - an odd thing to get from a craft beer. Sometimes it tastes grainy, sometimes it tastes like nothing at all.
Very very light bodied. Pretty well carbonated, starts out prickly. Rather quick finish. Crisp and clean, but for a light refreshing beer I'd like it to be more crisp.
Kind of a dull beer, but not so bad. Airy, almost like I'm not drinking beer, except for the carbonation and the light malty flavor. I can see what they were aiming for, but it's not something I'm really excited about - an ale that tastes like a light lager. Now I know what it tastes like, and I won't feel compelled to drink it again.

4.5% ABV per my bottle (purchased October 2012). 12 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap served into a Dick's Last Resort pilsner glass in me sister's gaff in low altitude Minneapolis, Minnesota. Reviewed live. Expectations are average; it seems like a decent local but little more.
Served after a period of rest from the refrigerator. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.
A: Pours a one finger beige colour head of okay thickness, little cream, and decent retention (though the ABV is low). Colour is a transparent translucent pale copper. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show.
Sm: Butterscotch, creme brulee, vanilla, and pale malts. A moderate strength aroma.
T: Vanilla, creme brulee, pale malts, malty sweetness, and biscuit malt. Balanced and interesting. Built well for the style; it's certainly unique. I like it, but it does suffer from its simplicity. A bit too sweet, negatively impacting the drinkability.
Mf: Coarse and wet. Tingly. Good carbonation. Good thickness.
Dr: Drinkable and enjoyable. I'd have it again. It's remarkable for the style. Might be great on draught. I look forward to trying more beers from this brewery.

Pale gold and slightly hazy. No head, no lacing. Smell is..well.faint. Grass, hay & wheat. Taste is mildly musty wheat/hay and faint, faint lemongrass, later a bit of malt. Mouthfeel is medium-light with moderate carbonation. For some reason this reminds me of Spotted Cow, as an entry level craft beer. It's certainly sessionable at 4.5% ABV, but personally I'd like more flavor, and so it's called AIR.

Lot 091092
A= Pours a translucent pale yellow color with a perfect white head on it that rises to a quarter finger and holds some solid retention and lacing on the side of the glass.
S= The smell is light as air. A very small hop aroma to it as well as the lightest of poopy wheat.
T= The taste is again very light. A tiny amount of hops and a very little amount of poopy wheat. The wheat leaves a nice after taste however that is a little lemony.
M= Well carbonated.
O= This beer is quite basic. It works however. It's not a mind blowing style trancending craft beer but it is a nice sessionable easy drinking wheat. Not to mention this is the best beer I've had from Lucid. Try this one out if you've written Lucid off like I had. This is actually pretty nice.

Appearance: Clear yellow, low head.
Smell: Pretty much nothing. I didn't quite rinse my glass enough so I got some rye from the previous beer I had been drinking.
Taste: Very light wheat, just a tingle of lemon.
Overall: I can see where the name comes from, this beer is light as air in aroma and flavor. Not a bad thing as light beers have their place. The ratings aren't great because there just isn't much there to describe, but this is a decent beer. Good for having several while watching the game.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams "Perfect Pint" glass.
Appearance: Pours a pale straw golden yellow with lots of rising bubbles. Big four finger white head with good retention. Leaves a lot of lace sticking around the glass.
Smell: A fairly light and wheat driven grainy aroma. Wheat grains and pale malts with hints of crackers, yeast, and cereal. Some noticeable hints of citrus lemon zest. Fairly grassy scent with some hints of earthy hops. A light aroma but it is well balanced.
Taste: Like the smell, but with a little more bitterness. Soft wheat grains and pale malts with some notes of crackers, yeast, biscuit, and cereal. A nice taste of lemon and a little bit of hay. Notes of grass and some earthy hops that add a little bitterness. A crisp and clean taste. Good for the style.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with a carbonation on the higher side of medium. Crisp, clean, and very smooth. A fairly drying finish.
Overall: A pretty decent lighter option. Mild taste and feel but what is there is good and balanced.

On tap at Acadia.
Initially a perfumey aroma that settles into a soft malt with hints of wheat and pale malt.
Cloudy light yellow with a minimal head.
Flavor is soft wheat and then pale malt flavor. In time shows a more fruity quality. Minimal bitterness.
Aqueous quality, but for style and hot weather it works okay. Thinnish overall and carbonated towards the flatter side.
Seems to lack character. In time the fruitiness offers some sense of uniqueness, but I guess I'd be more inclined to have a fruit beer on the base of a solid wheat beer. Having said that, this is fine and I wish the brewers well.
