This Brewery is great -- they do everything well. If NoDa's were the only beers available to me, I don't think I would miss anything else.

My personal favorites (so far) are:

Hop, drop and roll
Evergreen IPA
Coco Loco
imperial Coco Loco
Midnight Madness
Pacific Reign
Cold Crash Winter Ale

Beyond these, I still haven't been disappointed -- they are all great.

Quality beer that can compete with any.

Love NoDA, sad I found it so late after moving to Charlotte. These guys rock, great brews and great place to hang out. Birdsong Brew is right next door and there are food trucks outside almost everyday so you will never be bored. You wont regret a trip down to NoDa or Birdsong.

On a recent trip to Charlotte, my best friend wanted to show me all of the new breweries that had opened up over the past 18 months.

A: Decent Looking place, small sized outside patio that wasnt open. Inside offered plenty of tables tables and somewhat open seating, with a bar that could seat about 16-20 people.

Q: The beers that we tried we great. NoDa also tries to make beers that are outside the normal and boring and for the most part, pull it off quite well.

S: The place was about 1/4 full when we arrived on that sunday afternoon. The bartender was working solo but kept a good eye on the bar, so you didnt wait long to get a refill.

S: A great selection and probably the best offerings in the Charlotte area, all of their beers were beyond the traditional style of IPA, Porter, etc...they definitely try to reach out with their beers.

V: Prices for a pint were a little high priced, especially for the area but you are paying for the quality of the beers.

Overall, this is probably the best brewery in Charlotte. My only knock on NoDa is that they will not fill growlers from anywhere else, thus forcing you to buy their glass.

Of all the new breweries in Charlotte, I feel this is the one with the most potential. The taproom is always packed on the weekends, and they are already starting to outgrow their brewery, and they've only been there a little over a year. They have solid year round offerings with great seasonals. Looking forward to them bottling, and I hope they decide to rebrand their design. Their logo looks suitable for wine, but not beer.

For the meager 6 bucks I paid for the sampler it was well worth the quality beer they serve at this fine establishment Coco loco Porter is probably the best beer I've had in Charlotte but the other beers won't disappoint and you'll be walking out of there happier then when you arrived the bar maidens are easy on the eyes and know there beer never had to wait long at all for a fresh pint or a sample to quinch my thirst after you finish here walk 20 yards to birdsong brewery for more great beers

NoDa is the nickname of a bohemian arts district in Charlotte; a small area with a heavy concentration of cool bars & great restaurants. NoDa Brewery is a very welcome addition to the area. They've rennovated an old industrial building and created a space that's similar to a German beer hall, simply a large open room with high ceilings, some tables and a bar backed with glass allowing constant view of the guts of the working brewery.

There's no food, other than a few bowls of pretzels (I've been told there will be some remedy to this soon). The beer; however, is something to get excited about. Current draft lineup is:

Coco Loco* (coconut porter)
NoDaRyeZ’d* (double rye india pale ale)
Midnight Madness* (cascadian dark ale)
10 Blocks South* (xtra pale ale)
Ramble on Red (red ale)

They also feature some small batch experimental brews that change often.

Of the brewers in Charlotte, NoDa is the pick of the litter. They're doing most everything right. The owners (Todd & Suzy) are super-cool. The head brewer (Chad) knows his stuff & he's a frequent contributor to BA. The beer is really good & the fact that they're interested in brewing a wide variety of styles is promising. Basically, some beer geeks are running the show. Here's to 'em!

Located in the cultural hub of Charlotte that is NoDa. Fairly easy to find, located on N. Davidson St. with very visible, eye catching signage.

The place is fairly nice with ample seating. There is a long bar with a window showcasing the brewhouse behind it. Lots of seating at the bar, and several tables out on the rest of the floor. Clean in appearance, with a little bit of what I'm assuming is local art on the walls.

The service was a little slow as the place was packed, but they were knowledgeable about the beers, and were eager to offer samples.

I believe they had around 6-7 beers on tap; all of their normal rotation plus their weekly small batch experimental beer. This week the small batch was an Amber with chipotle peppers and chocolate.

There was no food to be found, other than a small bowl of pretzel sticks at the bar. I think it would benefit them to have more snacks available or have some sort of food vendor close by. I know I don't like to sit around and pound beers without some sort of food to help soak up the alcohol.

Overall, I really enjoyed the experience of visiting the brewery; attentive staff, good beer, and decent atmosphere all make for a great experience.

the latest advancement of the Charlotte beer scene...

NODA (the neighborhood) is a bizarre place - probably the only desirable place to live north of the city, surrounded by some grittier neighborhoods but having probably the highest density of hip restaurants and bars in the city. It's always enjoyable but peculiar coming up to this area.

NODA brewing is new, and they're embracing the new era of what a brewery can be. Out with the high overhead of opening a "brewpub" and in with the warehouse brewery with a taproom and no kitchen (dont worry - sounds like foodtruck collaborations are in the future). Let the record reflect, i'm a huge fan of this direction.

The beer was good - six taps - well 7 actually, but the "breakfast stout" was off the menu. Not sure what that was about, but not a strong business practice if done intentionally. The porter and imperial rye-pa were both solid. The pours were a little strange - pints were served in shakers (consistent with industry practice I guess) but seemed intentionally short to display a >1" thick head. I'm all for aesthetics and frothy heads, but this seemed shoddy.

Liked the art, impressed with the space, dug the broken social scene (circa 2002) record followed by the talking heads, and the beer was high quality though seemed to be paying homage to most of craft fads of the past few years (less a non-traditional sour).

A very worthy location, but an A+ rating is reserved for truly special places.

Fell in love with this brewery quickly at Charlotte Oktoberfest as every beer they had on tap was great. Stopped in for the first time this weekend to participate in their cornhole tournament and was equally impressed. It's a great little taproom in the NODA district with plenty of space to hand out and drink some brews. What really sells this brewery are two things - the beer and the people. Coco Loco is their staple and one of my favorite porters I've had throughout the US. Nodaryzed was equally as impressive and left with growlers of each. Will definitely be heading back for more. The folks running this brewery are class acts and take the time to talk to you about their beers and what will be coming next. Can't wait to see what will be on tap next. They've also got a great Twitter account and Facebook page and are quick to get back to you if you have any questions. This is the type of brewery the Charlotte beer scene needs and I hope nothing but the best for these folks. Stop in - you won't be disappointed.

Was the second person in the door for their grand opening, so I was able to post up in front of the 4-tap tower. The brewery is located down in the industrial area of NoDa. It is right on the street so it is quite easy to spot. There is a small lot for parking behind the brewery with overflow parking in the gravel lot behind the brewery to the right. DO NOT park along the wall of the building next door as you will be towed. Just a heads up... The taproom entrance is on the side of the building and has a wheelchair ramp and steps to get to it. Upon walking in there was quite a bit of seating around with tables and chairs, high top tables along the walls, and bar seating. The wall behind the bar is glass so you can look into the brewery while you are drinking your brew. Tours opening night were going on approximately every hour or so, but not sure how it will pan out in the future. The staff here are nothing short of awesome. They were quite overwhelmed with the amount of people who showed up but were still able to handle everything that was thrown at them in a timely manner. There were 4 taps on at this event. But I heard there is a rumor to add more (up to 8 total) in the future. A great addition to Charlotte's growing craft beer scene and a definite must stop-by if you are in the area.
