On-tap at Idle Hands, New York, NY

A: The beer is hazy light yellow in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a thin white head that died down, leaving a large patch of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of floral hops and fruity yeast are present in the nose along with some hints of sweetness.
T: Like the smell, the taste has flavors of floral hops with notes of fruit, hints of honey and bits of sweetness.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and is quite flavorful for the style.

Love finding more local breweries popping up on Long Island. Great session-able pale ale with nice balance with the flavors. Not too sweet and not too malty. Could be a TAD hoppier, but I am a hop head; EVERYTHING can be hoppier, lol. All in all a great beer you don't have to think too much about and instead can just enjoy anytime, anywhere.

A - Dark golden color with a high white foam that settles quickly. Clear and some lacing.

S - Has a sweet smell of honey, and a scent of fresh flowers. Hop scent is more an herbal smell than bitter.

T - Sweet flavor with a crisp finish. Lightly malted, and an mild hope profile.

M - Nice easy drinking pale ale. Leaves a dry feel in the mouth. Some carbonation is noted.

O - Simple beer that does the job for what it is. Good beer as the spring comes back to Long Island. I'm noticing the English influences on the Port Jeff brews.

Growler filled in Yorktown, NY

Pours murky lighter, brown hued amber.

Lite tan head, of the none too exciting variey. Leaves minor lace.

Carbonation on the low side adding to drinkability.

Nose of mellow sweet malts and faint dusty hops.

Flavorful brew, soft hops, waves of malt. With a hint of lime and a nice long dry finish.
This tastes and feels like you are sitting in a London pub enjoying their hoppy IPA. Hops dense and drying but not punching you in the face with bitterness. Nicely done

I would put this beer in the ESB style definitely balanced to crystal malt sweetness. Not that that's a bad thing the body is also full and rich. Fortunately I happen to like ESBs
smells like sweet malt with a hint of floral citrus. Taste is also balanced toward sweet malt. There are some earthy and citrusy flavors as well. The beer was served in a shaker pint not my favorite glass. Nice deep copper colour with little head

Served in a pint glass.

Appearance: Clear mustard gold with heavy bubbles on the body, white head rising to at least third on an inch.

Smell: Light honey scent meets light hops.

Taste: Has a light bitterness followed by a little sweet. Wish it was more but still puts a smile on your face.

Mouth: Medium to heavy carbonation. It is little crisp and just loving it.

Overall: Very good beer; it is simple and satisfies. Salud!

consumed on 7/7, while I was "on Hiatus." picked up locally. enjoyed from my HotD tulip.

a - brew poured a deep brownish orange with a thin bubbly head that was gone relatively quick. swirling the glass brought the head back to life if for a moment. very sparse spotty lacing. my next pour was a bit harder and yielded a big frothy beige head and as i drank the second glass, there were definite stains of lacing all over the glass.

s - really nice smell. strong malt backbone with a tingle of some hopping over the top.

t - the taste is quite a treat as well. again, the malts are the highlight, but some subtle hopping in the background gives this a true pale ale feel as opposed to many pale ales that tow the line between pale ale and india pale ale. really catches the english pale ale vibe just right.

m - super easy drinker. a bit thicker than i would have guessed, but it is still a nice brew to throw back in the warm weather.

o - i had just heard that this hit bottles so i decided to go for it sooner than later to get it as fresh as possible. definitely the same great taste that i had when i had this on tap. one of the better beers from port jeff.

Pours a murky lemonade/ice tea half & half color. The head is dense but quite short, settles into a light cap.

The aroma is bready with some honey sweetness, some brown sugar and a very light apricot hop note. Lightly floral.

The taste is bready and sweet. Substantial malt body with a light brown sugar sweetness. The hops are not very strong. Some tea flavors provide a dry element. The hops are peppery and has notes of apricot. Seems to hit the EPA style.

The feel is moderate with some airy carbonation. Mainly sweet on the palate but does have some dryness and light grassy bitterness.

Solid EPA. Kind of a meh style but Port Jeff seems to hit the correct flavor notes.

Poured a deep copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured a sharp grassy hop atop a clean crystal malt.

The taste was balanced with grass and herbs on the hop side and a clean grainy caramel in the malt side.

The mouthfeel presented good carbonation and a medium body.

Overall a tasty and brawny pale ale.

Stopped by the Port Jeff Brewing Company today. Picked up a growler of their Schooner Ale after a sample.
Really the plastic cup serves no justice.
I didn't realize this was classified as a English Pale Ale. Not a huge fan of this style but I was surprised. I really liked this brew.
Poured from my growler to my Sam Adams glass.
Had a pleasant copper/amber appearance to it with a thin white head that faded quickly. Minimal lacing and carbonation.
Very appealing smell of malt although not too sweet.
Medium body and very well balanced. Not too sweet or bitter.
Overall I really liked this beer. I would purchase this brew again.
I'm also happy to support my local micro-brew. Can't wait to try more brews.
Cheers!
